Will Kep be the last refuge? Or will it also be invaded by the Chinese?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

if this guy thinks cambodia is ruined because SNV went downhill and kep is the last saviour then he obviously needs to expand his horizons.

Cambodia has a very small coastline. The question is valid. If you like the beach you are not going to move to Kampong Speu.
There are plans for Koh Kong development, a tourist complex with airport and golf course if I remember, and of course there's the big marina they are building on the coast at Kampot.
The problem with Kep is that there's not much there for westerners at the moment, but some enterprising person could build a few condos on the seafront, open up some sports bars, a coffee shop or two, a KFC and a giant supermarket, and the westerners would pour in. :stir:

i would imagine being you, anywhere is boring :beer1:
Kep is for those that know how to enjoy themselves without someone else assisting them, Having a gf with you, family there, cant think of anywhere else < IF i HAD to live in Cambodia, i'd live
30 minutes to Kampot, 2 hours to PP for weekly shopping trips, you have the mtns and the sea an great seafood..Already have atm's LOL

I do agree, anyone with $$ ( serious money) would visit Phuket or Jomtien and check out all the condo developments in place and under construction and consider the same in Kep. Get in early before its to expensive...
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

all SEA can be boring, more boring than the west definatly.

all there is to do is drink beer and goto those girly bars day in day out.

kep dont even have girly bars just mountains and a corner store and a jetty.

rabbit island is ok but locals are all inbreds and its polluted.

The Pallas Group (with plans for the 6056 hectare, 'mega super luxury' French Riviera Marina development in Kampot) also has plans for a smaller, 144 hectare development in Kep.
You could be next.
