Why street photography is facing a moment of truth

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

....beginning with general concerns about privacy, and in the case of children, their inability to give consent, thus adding an element of exploitation as well..
do how do u stand with Scott Nesson an his use of kids photos on his site and fb page to promote his CCF charity?

Sounds like I would lean toward the anti side, but haven't actually seen it. I've long argued that many of the uses of the images of children by NGOs (often as as income generators) is potentially exploitative and should be curbed/limited/eliminated. The orphanages were particularly bad in this regard. Even Somaly has grudgingly learned to stop using the unobscured faces of children in her NGO material. She's even made a bit of a game of it. Anyway, gotta link?

I like some 'street photography', then some is a bit meh, and I'd be pissed off if my/my family appeared in some wanky art students portfolio.

But Vlad can't agree with anyone, let alone himself. Even Vladimir disagrees with Vladimir. What a class A bellend.

*Note, the term class A is deliberate, so Vladimir can read it as some Freudian slip and bang on about how everybody else is a drug user, what with him being whiter-than-white, proving his superiority in a topic. That or something about Wat Phnom sex dwarf lawyers

Dude, you started with me when I came on here for no reason whatsoever. Then you whined when it got too hot for you that I was being petty and vindictive.

If you can't argue for tuppence, or take your own medicine, then don't start.

Class A bell-end is still better than a 3rd class, land-scamming twat.

In fact, I'll take Class A as a compliment.

Toodles, poofies.

3rd Class Land Scammer Twat??

Please elaborate. Although it sounds like a cool military term.

PS I believe you started it (although I can't remember how, it's all the drugs, you see). :beer3:

look at his sponsorship program and the photos of the kids available.

Many of the kids i photographed at the dump in 08/09 are current students of the schools

BTW Scott is one of the good guys

No, I haven't had a look at his site in a long time or followed his plans.

Yes, I know, or at least believe, Neeson (and McCabe) are some of the good guys.

I'll take a look at his site, but just because he is one of the good guys doesn't necessarily mean I agree with everything he does,
