Why isn't cycling more popular in Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I ride for exercise, in Cambodia I did so very early mornings. In my opinion it is the most enjoyable form of exercise as you get to take in some sights while doing it.

Riding during the day takes away that enjoyment and replaces it with packed roads, traffic and heat.

Really. It is now 03:15, I am heading out for a 30K run and still think riding a bike in SE Asia is dangerous. I must be lazy  .

Why so early? Plus it must mess up your body clock.

Isn’t that a bit too early. I run at 6am and the heat is manageable but then I don’t work so it doesn’t matter if I sweat.

Sweating is not a problem in Sa Pa at the moment ;-)

Couple of reasons: I had my first meeting at 07:00 and I am training for an ultra so training for night running and running tired is all part of the training.
