Why Cambodia is the best country in the world (The Spectator)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Cambodia is nice because it is what you will with it. It can cater to budget travellers, as well as middle class immigrants and upscale expats. I myself prefer living in Cambodia because its the most "normal" common sense country in the world in my view, which isn't authoritarian in its regulations or rules (e.g, China, EU, UK, etc.) or at almost at Mad Max levels of mob rule (South Africa, Mexico, etc.) or political instability (Thailand, New Guinea, Brasil, etc.). India and Bangladesh are both cool, but it's generally too unhealthy to live there, if for the air pollution and filth in general alone.

I think if Mexico (or perhaps Guatemala) was more safe and secure, that'd probably be the best all-around country for an emigrant from a Western nation (standards/cost of living, weather, beauty, ease of finding work, not America's bitch, etc.) , but until then...🇰🇭
