Who Is Currently Overstaying Their Cambodian Visa?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Oh, by the way, you might want to add a soundtrack from this experience.
Helped me to keep patient, while boiling inside.
Music is memory to me. I still like it afterwise though.

What's up with the Japanese lately? Murdering taxi drivers for small time cash and overstaying their visas? It's not like them.

Speaking of which, haven't seen Steve the Scammer for a while... is he around?

Nice!
From this side of the equation, a 'poverty' might be right. But from the Governments viewpoint it's a huge pile of cash waiting to be collected so perhaps a 'Trove' is a good collective noun (as in Treasure Trove)

Oh, you might ask : "why so much wait from the immig high high officer ? "
Spoiler:
They take their time to check you, deeply. Enquiries with neighborhood, work, embassy, police, airport immigration of course. They couldn't prove we had fee-cheating intentions too, as our adults passports were ok, and as they could see us on the airport video, could see the officer talking to us, but didn't have a record of what was told to us. As i went home early on a daily basis, worked 6/7, rarely went out, didn't have a reputation in hookers & drug places, and was unknown to famous people with a shit reputation, we were ok to them. They wouldn't let go a 6500 $ fine like that, you know that.
Cheers.
Good story but I don't believe they were investigating you or watching you or that they have the ability to check 18 month old video footage of every passenger.

They were probably just sympathetic because a child was involved, the law had changed, and you made an honest mistake.

No need to watch 18 months of airport footage, we knew on which date we arrived. For the investigation, you'd be surprised.
A 6 month process isn't proof of sympathy about my kid, when we were potentially in need for a qui k departure for medical assistance out of Cambodia.
They did check more than a bit, had feedback later on from the neighborhood.
