If you do not understand the fact that this is a time related example, then there is no point trying to explain anything to you.

Quantum mechanics and theories are the future and everyone should read up on them. The basics are not that complicated, they just sound as if they are.

The supposition is based on not knowing what state the cat is in (alive or dead) until such time that that the lid is opened at which point there is outside interference with the experiment.

However, there is a point at which it is known for definite the state of the cat without opening the box and therefore not having any outside interference.
