Whitebait in Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Whitebait in Cambodia

Post by kgbagent »

I dont mean that ersatz Australian rubbish but the product similar to NZ whitebait - I am happy to risk a cancer from the Chinese frozen product - has anyone seen it in Cambodia?

I pine for whitebait fritters with green chilli and coriander, salted and a squeeze of lemon juice

Try Choronai Foods, pretty sure I've seen (frozen) NZ whitebait there, they often have NZ Kinas too.

On the corner of street 95 and street 360 is a shop that sells lots of good quality frozen fish and meat upstairs - they have some fresh on the outside counter (you'll recognize it as it has big pictures of meat and fish displayed outside) they have whitebait.

Lots of good Mackerel as well, good for lamb and beef too.

***EDIT*** Seems like me and PSD Kiwi are on about the same place I didnt know its name

Will do - will be in PP in a week or so

FYI - Lees has opened a supermarket with US/OZ/NZ frozen beef and lamb at excellent prices on the PP road near the big Honda dealer - very professional place
