Where else in the world do you want to try on for size?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Did not know this. Source?
the english flag is a copy of theirs ...
We saw it and copied it after we fought side by side in the crusades with them..
Ab, of course - the cross of St. Andrew.

Wikipedia quotes...

"According to Georgian Orthodox Church tradition, the first preacher of the Gospel in Colchis and Iberia (modern-day Western and Eastern Georgia) was the apostle Andrew, the First-called. According to the official church account, Andrew preached across Georgia, carrying with him an acheiropoieta of the Virgin Mary (an icon believed to be created "not by human hand"), and founded Christian communities believed to be the direct ancestors of the Church."

Sounds pretty appocraphyl to me, like Hadith times 10.

Later the article goes on...

"Other apostles claimed by the Church to have preached in Georgia include Simon the Canaanite (better known in the West as Simon the Zealot)... and Saint Matthias, said to have preached in the southwest.. The Church also claims the presence in Georgia of the Apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus, coming north from Armenia."

So, a solid foundation in ancient history.

My other interest in Georgia is that apparently it welcomes foreign traders and investors. The wine or the fact that Stalin was from there, I could care less about.

Good thread. Most of the places mentioned are also on my list. I think I'd really like to visit most of South America, and I've been really obsessed with Africa. It seems like the last "wild" place around... For some reason I love this video, reminds me of Cambodia (shot in Burkina Faso):

Late getting to this, but while Asia really does it for me (though I sort of like the idea of hopping around through it) I find myself a bit envious of a friend now living in Brazil. Once the wife is all documented and such here in America we may take a trip down there for a little while.

I like Asia & I like the water - Palawan PI, Lombok Indonesia, & Ngapoli Myanmar. Palawan is probably the most beautiful place I've been. Ngapoli is starting to take off now (as opposed to when I was there), as is Lombok the next island after Bali (which I enjoyed a lot).
