Good man :thumb: I think if I was getting a BBQ I'd go for the one below, they were $320 a year ago.

Im guessing import duty be about 20% so not much more really

The Chinese one is stainless and looks more heavy duty than the US one - also would appear to have a bigger lid for rotating roasts :stir:

I have one of those ($35), tbh I think people get taken advantage of by manufacturers of expensive bbq/braai machines.

I understand your logic - however I expect to cook on mine most nights ( 3-5 min ) as I like the smells from cooked food outside rather than in and lingering.

I want gas as I want it to be an easy decision - not lighting charcoal etc and waiting till it is ready - and I like to slow cook a shoulder of pork for a fair few hours

In OZ I used mine as described and it lasted over 12 years and is still in use back there. I am looking for a long term purchase as I intend having it on my deck of the house I am building.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I understand, I just think many of the models offered are way overpriced, as ricecakes would say.

Hometop had one on the floor ( the Krok type ) on MST Blvd - didn't ask price

Went looking all the likely places without luck so will probably go the Ali Express route

Have you seen this one - a five burner with what looks like a cast iron plate for part of the grill. Sale price $367.50

Six burner here $900 sale price but shipping expensive.

I had a six burner stainless steel Jackeroo BBQ in Aus, absolutely brilliant, used it everyday for all cooking.

That looks ok - saw it earlier but discounted it due to no rotisserie but thinking about it some more I prob dont care too much about it really
So with discounts it is landed here for $663.50 and only duty payable on $367.50 so thats pretty OK price wise and also delivery in 7-15 days

The other one I have narrowed down is this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/high-qu ... 089a&tpp=1

This has the rotiss feature and if I buy on the sale day in 2 days time it lands here for $741.72 duty paid on $412.50 and same delivery time thereabouts

Thoughts?
