Whats happened to the internet
Re: Whats happened to the internet
Three major problems with the AAG cable, claiming bandwidth severely curtailed. Cambodia is connected to several undersea links, including the always troublesome AAG gateway cable, which provides significant traffic to Vietnam.

The VN government is quick to blame it on sharks whilst Vietnamese netizens tend to blame the government. Who is right? Maybe a VN government shark?ExPenhMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 2:57 pm Three major problems with the AAG cable, claiming bandwidth severely curtailed. More likely the locals doing a bit of tatting.

Yeah, now it's not just the AAG cable (which gets disrupted almost every other month), but two other cable systems as well.
The major problems ALWAYS seem to occur in the sections that Vietnam is responsible for, leading me to believe that their maintenance and also repairs are totally sub-standard.

That shark photo above is from 2014 or 15. Most damage to underwater cables is from shipping anchors and fishing nets, not sharks.
