What you think of Cambodia girl?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

There’s a very good friend of mine who might actually go left in the above example.
Ok, Maybe not quite that far left, but he’s definitely erring on the larger and older than him, side. He’s pretty athletic, so many western women may fail to meet any other criteria.

Me...? When the other half asks me why?, I tell her truthfully; it started with the eyes. Not the skin colour, ethnicity or anything else. The package does matter, but the first spark?
You should see the pictures English girls show when explaining why they prefer asian lads. Cmon you old fat alcoholic gits, admit it. You are mostly the male equivqlent of the lefty! Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander....
Sorry pal, but I disagree. My ex-wife (quite svelte) will show you the house and burgeoning bank balance to demonstrate what she (and they) might think of Western chaps. I'm a comfortable 75kgs and 47, so am neither fat nor old. I might, perhaps, err on the side of functioning alcoholic... :hattip:

Jokes aside.. The question is loaded with racism.

Women are women and men are men.

My missus would give her very life for me and the kids.

That's all I care about

I have been asked the interminable question, whether I like the "Cambodia girl", numerous times. I always answered "Yes". I never ventured further. No matter how many subsequent questions were asked. Like you Mish, I'm happy to be with my partner, and she most definitely has my back, and I have hers. We don't have kids together, although I'm sure she would like that to change sooner rather than later. I may even venture that way in the future, who knows? I always told her "no more kids". She accepted that, but still keeps on about having more kids :please: We'll see.

But to your point. I don't think it's loaded with racism. I think it's more loaded with envy. We foreigners come to their land, steal their ladies, and I suspect that they might be looking for a nook to spread rumours that all foreigners only want the women for one thing etc. etc.

A few male Khmer colleagues met my Missus, and all congratulated me on choosing a beautiful lady and wished us a great future and health etc. I don't think it's a general thing. Unless they were all two-faced duplicitous bastards. But I doubt that.

That's a pretty old cliche. I see hot western women here all the time (who either live here, or are tourists). Sure, if you're living in some council housing out in some secondary city's suburbs, many girls will look like that (but so will the guys). Head to any major European/NA city, and you'll see stunners left and right. In almost every country in the world, the educated/beautiful marry their own kind. You'll never see some super hot NYC lawyer chick with some fat slob from Wyoming, just like you'll never see some Khmer hottie with a high-profile job/business from a moneyed family with some farmer from Kompong Speu or a broke western tefler. There are plenty of rough looking Asian chicks too...

Pretty much, but I think it's a normal/natural thing to wonder about. Women (and men) ask my girl all the time what it's like to be with a foreigner. Questions from the mundane to the hilarious. "Is it true they sleep naked?" Sometimes they're joking, sometimes they aren't. Have you ever wondered at some point in your life: what 's it like to be with an Senegalese woman? What's it like to be with a Danish woman? A Russian one? I think it's just human curiosity. So yes, women are women the world over (slightly crazy ;-) ), and men are men, but there are still cultural differences and people are curious to know about them.
