What's with this rain?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What's with this rain?

Post by Doc67 »

It started raining in PP yesterday at about 2pm and hasn't stopped. It's still going now.

Up until now I have only ever seen big rainshowers lasting an hour or so and then it goes. I can't remember anything like this, it like England (just warm rain!)

Is there a big storm about? I was here last year at this time and don't remember rain like this.

Tropical storm hitting Southeast Asia right now. Bringing torrential rains to the region. Winds already flattened a building on Hainan Island as it passed over.

Following it on NHK on line. Reports news every hour.

Stay dry out there.

I quite like it so long as it's not too heavy. Makes a refreshing change. It wasn't that long ago we seemed to be in heading for a drought of 1980s Ethiopian proportions.

The worst is passing. It is now over Thailand. It is moving west.

It's eased off now, clouds might even burn off.

Rode PP-KPT yesterday between 4 and 6pm.
