Post by Macmullo »

I know this is kind of a personal question, but someone told me if you can get it under 50$ your doing very well.
Mine sits around 55-70 depending on how infernal it is when I need to sleep.
Curious if anyone can shed their wisdom.

Highest? $385. Lowest $90.

If you are using A/C, and how often you use it, will make a big difference to your bill. If you are 1 person in a studio, $50 could be a lot - but if you are running the A/C day & night then that may be a fair price.
And also, how many rooms do you have? How many people in your household? Electric appliances? How much do you pay per kw ?
ALSO, the price of electricity varies according to region. (Quite a lot sometimes.)

I pay around $35 a month but I don't run A/C and I'm not at home for the large part of most days. One time in another house I used to pay $70, and then suddenly it jumped up to $200. I got someone to check the appliances. There were a few fridges and one small fridge in particular was costing around $70 a month as it had a leak or something. That never got turned on again.

The question was 'What's the worst power bill'. Worst doesn't necessarily mean the highest bill you've paid.

A couple of years ago: As was normal, the EDC bill was stuck in the sliding metal gate. The bill was fetched by someone in the household and put in the kitchen. A few days later, I was asked for money to pay the bill, which was in the vicinity of our regular EDC bill.
Money handed over.
Bill paid.
Then, a fews days later our power is cut off, yet the neighbors were unaffected.

The bill we paid was not our bill!! , but nobody checked the name on the bill. And, there was nothing we could do about it, unless we wanted to front up to the owner of the bill (on the other side of the city) and hope for their kind consideration of reimbursing us.

Pay $20 a month - seems cheap to me but not complaining
