What ???? No rubbish ???

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Definitely no rubbish when you have this many rubbish bins on riverside.

Sorry Phnom Penh. We only do this in Takhmau.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

did they really need to put so many, if they are different sorts of bins for different rubbish have 2-3 bins next to each other then a bigger gap then another group a 1-200m down the road, scattered about like that just looks bad and im sure most people cant be bothered trying to find the right bin to put the appropriate rubbish in, i guess too many bins are better than no bins though ay

People still don't know how to classify the waste yet, but good to see it.

I remember a two or three years ago I put out three rubbish bins at my house, two "normal" and one for recycling. The two normal rubbish were red and the recycling was green (clever right? :) ) and if that wasn't enough, I though to add a big bright recycling sign on the side of the green one. I felt all proud of my bins as I was the only one who was doing it and hoped that sooner or later, my neighbors would catch on and we'd have some sort of happy organized rubbish street.

So there I was the first day, filled up the green bin with cans but there wasn't much other rubbish, so that was it. I heard the E'jai and the squeaky toy, so I thought it would be a nice present for them to take the fully loaded bin for free. I figured they couldn't miss it and figured out what it was but to my surprise, I didn't hear any clanking of cans or anything, so I assumed they missed it. Curious, I went outside to see what the deal was. When I got outside it became apparent why they seemed to have come and gone so quickly.

All three of my new bins had been swiped.

If I had the money I would donate a wheelie bin likes these to every single family in Cambodia. I think is would make such a difference to the general cleanliness of the country.
