What does true love look like?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

No, heaven is in a completely different time zone, and you cross the inter-dimensional date line on the way there.

I'm more concerned about the inscription on the cross. 4 gospels. 4 writers. 4 different versions of the sign. Seems they couldn't even copy a sign accurately. As editor-in-chief of the Bible, this would seem to point out a contradiction between God's omnipotence, omniscience and literacy.

This is what i have learned and been told. The reason that his Crucifixion was special, because he died for us (sinner). He had been crucified to save us from sin. His father (God) sent him to save us. His blood flow by being crucified saved us.

Then, when i had been told that Jesus is God. I was immediately confusing.
You are not a sinner nor were you born one. That's stupid mumbo jumbo. It's easy to control people who already are made out to feel guilty from the time of their birth.

jesus didnt hand himself hin. he was arrested on the ount of olives, when i remember right.

he was interrogated and spoke up to his defense.

thats far from suicide.

what exactly he said, is apparently incomplete and possibly was modified, to make him "special enough".

jesus didnt want to found a church nor did he change any rules of his super-jewish lifestyle.
so, whats YOUR love?

True. If you always felt that you have committed sin, you wouldn't feel happy inside, all always feel guilty.

Exactly. Guilt is the currency christians traffic in.

Was watching a 'documentary'last night on the apostles and shit, and it reminded me that THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO HISTORICAL EVIDENCE FOR JESUS AND HIS CREW. Anecdotal, third hand Chinese whispers at best.

At least to Pro'Mo' (P.B.U.H.) was a real person, who like, existed and shit, with plenty of primary sources to back it up. The 'evidence' of western christian traditions seem to be based on visions by 9th century goatherds. 'Oh yeah, God told me John the Apostle was buried here'.

And why, oh why can't they get the dates for Easter settled? It's proper known that Xmas never happened o 25th Dec, but can't some false reasoning be given that Easter at least falls in the same week?

I'm all up for Christian charity and the sort, but it is all remarkably silly. Yet if the good outweighs the bad, I suppose, carry on.

That is singularly the most ignorant, uneducated statement I have read on CEO, or on 440 for that matter, and I can only hope you're attention-whoring. There is close to no doubt among secular scholars of the historicity of Jesus Christ, and the non-Biblical accounts of his life are plentiful and from varied sources. Typically those who claim otherwise fall into the same category as holocaust deniers. Given the stupidity of your statements here I doubt you'd believe anything you were told, but here's what REAL atheists say on the matter:

http://www.thethinkingatheist.com/forum ... -the-bible

Edit: for clarity, 'close to no doubt' means that the very large majority of secular (that is, non-believing) historians and scholars completely accept the historicity of Jesus Christ.

I watched a couple of the Easter specials on NatGeo and Discovery, and wondered how long it would be before someone cited them here as 'scientific evidence'.
