What can't you get hold of in Cambodia that you wish you could???

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Very difficult to find a sheet set that includes:
  • A flat sheet
    A fitted sheet
    Two pillowcases
This is standard in Australia, but here you get:
  • A fitted sheet
    Two pillowcases
    Two stupid booster cases
Why are flat sheets so hard to find? And I am sure Aeon sell them for $400 so please don't go there.

I found two flat sheets, which once home turned out to be different sizes. And another I bought came with a seam down the middle of it (I took it back).

Aliexpress has them but not in Cambodian mattress sizes (160cm/180cm), but I suppose I could buy the 198cm King size and get one of the ladies at the market to take the fitted one in a bit.

Reasonably priced cars. A car i can get for 2000 USD in the UK will cost 5 or 6 times as much in Cambodia. I get why with import costs and tax, but still pretty hard to accept.

Uncensored Internet. Anything “.gov” was blocked last time I tried. One of the nicest things is having Amazon Prime and the other is doing all the bills/taxes/license renewals/registrations, etc. on-line.

Convenience comes to a screeching halt in the KOW.

The ordinary drudgeries of life that take minutes and a few presses on a smartphone or computer can take a while. Finding the place, standing in line, going through the hoops - looking at you ACLEDA! to get stuff done.

Good Nescafe.
The Thai and Vietnamese Nescafe we get here is horrible.
I've had Brazilian,(the worst) US and European made Nescafe also poor.
Only Australians know how to manufacture Nescafe properly.
(43 bean mix of course)

Have you tried the white espresso sachets here? Something like $3.50 for 10 but they're a lot better than the 3 in 1. Not quite the best I've had, but still decent.

Conspiracy theory: all nescafe coffee is shite, but we are all used to what we were raised with.
