This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything, whether it relates to Cambodia or not. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

If you actually spend time to read DSM it pretty much starts out by saying do not read this for self-diagnosis because you will recognize yourself in nearly everything as it was written like that.

Shrinks are trained to tell the difference that you can't without proper training. Throwing DSM diagnosises on yourself and people around you is doing you more harm than good.

I see how my OP could be blown out of proportion like you have. I only commented that "I think that percentage is higher than 1 percent here among the Expat population in Cambodia."
Well no that's my point. I don't believe your observations and I do not believe that people you've lent money are necessarily psychopaths.

You didn't want to give names but you could at least give detailed examples of your encounters with these psychopaths. To me they are usually violent criminals so I can't understand where you would meet them and why so often.
No Mr. fax. I will not, and never have done so. I don't even want to explain to you why I think it is unwise to "give detailed examples of your encounters".
Something happened to you that made you think over 1% of us are psychos but you're not going to tell us why...

Interesting way to discuss something. Carry on then
Paranoia may have something to do with it! :D

Back in the day before eBooks I had physical copies of the then current DSM. Nice comment fax. You seem to know what you're posting about here. I suppose your point is that I'm "Throwing DSM diagnosises (sic) on ... people..." Well, haha, ok maybe so. I don't retract my OP or comments however. :)

You wrote, "Paranoia may have something to do with it!" I'll be the judge of me, Mr. Kuroneko.

Since this isn't a panel of psychologists, I think a good definition for "psychopath" for this particular thread could be "someone who acts or appears to act immorally, or have no conscience, so can be prone to conflict". Thoughts?

I'll pass. I respectfully think no agreed definition is preferable for this particular thread.

My thoughts, exactly also. This describes many acquaintances I have who could also be described as "a top bloke when he's sober!"

Ha, ha. I noticed that too. Easy way to get some karma/upvotes. I wonder if he'll throw one my way for this post?
