Re: Western expats in Cambodia watch in horror as China moves in
I've seen many flashpacker type Chinese girls who I'm sure would be up for "and adventure" during their trip.
I drive by there every day and the Chinese presence there has been constant for well over a year or two I'd say. Slight fluctuations, but it's definitely got a lot there. I was out towards Ratanak Plaza area today and tons of Chinese there as well. There are numero "congregations" throughout town.AndyKK wrote:There seems to be a large increase in the numbers of Chinese people around mid Monivong Road 1. With construction work at Boeung Keng Kang 1 (BKK1) last night there were lines of concrete mixer trucks in wait to poor there loads at new developments. It also seems that in the same area there are more Chinese business, with hotels, supermarket's and restaurants.
Toul Tom Poung 1 (Russian Market) I noticed many buildings there to rent of late, with some older businesses closing down, but again it seems to have fallen favour for new Chinese business to open in some cases.
