Welcome to Cambodia Expats Online!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

although it hurts inside, i have to agree with soi dog, ;)
lots more posts by the top guys ( who we wont see here) and fewer new posts.

For me it started to die end of last year and the new crop of posters are boring with lame threads

Ho my ho my, 9 pages on this thread and nobody spoke about the event that for me marks the definite decline of the other forum, the event that clearly announce to everyone that a weight of prudishness and hypocrisy had fallen.
The removal of OD avatar
Honestly that was the things that hook my to Kh440 on the first place

You can be of bad taste (what Stain had to do to be banish for one week is amazing) , publish the private identification paper of people who attempted suicide (for what purpose is not obvious), start witch hunt on heavy criminal who commuted the unforgivable crime of not paying the bar tab (with precious actual information on the guy I may add, after one month is age go from 26 to perhaps 22).
I pass of course for the hostess bar add which pays for the site, and the thread that you cannot classified something else (as Vladimir pointed out quite brilliantly to Gavimac) than Sexpat Q and A.

But showing less that what you can see in some add on TV was not possible ... Hypocrisy in a nutshell

The reason given : if people saw the thread when I am at work can be embarrassing. The answer of the mod should have been, in this case do not consult this forum at work. Just the add on the site clearly indicates that this is not a work related forum.

So OD when are the REAL avatar back ?

I exclusively browse internet forums while at work. The last thing I want to do when I get home from work is sit behind a computer more. An internet forum, for me, is about discussion. I don't go there for tit and ass shots, no matter how hot the girl is...and yes, if someone around me saw wiggly jiggly tits on my computer screen, it could be a big deal. If I want titties I will go to titties.com or whatever when I am not at work.

What is so hard to understand about that?

Well in my case, if I occasionally browse at work if I have some free time I clearly see this forum as "non work related".
Why should we have the boundaries and social convention of work applied on our free time just so that some people can wast time at work ?
I found it hard to think how consulting this or the other forum at work could not be a potential problem anyways. First they are well know ( at least for the other) and the add clearly indicated that this is for a recreational usage.

Plus OD avatar did not seems to be a major problem until recently, how did you manage before ? You do not see the add for the loco bar as potentially problematic ? Stain avatar was not bothering you ?

Amen.

K440 is more than just the forum. One of the business heads has repeatedly mentioned how the front page articles are the future life blood of the site. Perhaps their front page ad revenues are what drives their bottom line? I think they see that currently or as their future and adopted some forum policies to prevent the forums hurting their front page business. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with what they've done, just that I think such thinking may drive some of their decisions.

Yep. Definitely noticed how much they've been posting themselves to try to keep it afloat. I honestly wish them luck.

That's why I said another thread that they should be grateful for all the feedback for them we've allowed on here.

If they can keep being nicer to everyone they might have a chance.

I'm also not a fan of bouncing titties in an avatar, as I often browse at work too.

However, the problem I had with ^that was he wasn't the only one with a super sexy avatar at the time, yet they only made an issue out of his.

Again, they have the right to decide set rules for avatars, but it can't just apply to SOME posters and not others.

LoL. Same here.

i'll cook up some good avatars sooner or later. just adblock them if they're a problem at work... pretty simple really, even genmac understood how to do it, once shown ;-)
