I like to eat small ants when I find them on my food.
They have a unique TANG to them.
Don't knock it till you try it.

They confidently stride out into busy traffic, or pull out on a moto right across busy traffic, and raise one arm, like it's providing some kind of protective forcefield, and helps them justify behaving like a suicidal lemming in rush hour traffic. My arm is raised, so i will proceed and you shall yield. Fuzzy logic.General Mackevili wrote:Ha! If you're gonna have any chance of getting to Cambodia much less STAYING there you gotta ditch most ALL THAT JUNK. Good luck. Classic hoarding. Try just tossing ANY thing and see what happens. Or try that in the SMALLEST room. Sure as HELL you ain't gonna ship it all over. Find out what you NEED. Go to Cambodia for a couple months and see how happy you are with just a couple suitcases. If you ain't? Ditch the move to Cambodia plan.EdinWigan wrote:OK for Ants:

I also procrastinate, I know I need to tell you all why this is so and I will, I just need to go polish the roof slates and knit the cat some swimming trunks.
I have a large 4 bed house ( I am single) but spend most of my time sat here in my study on the internet ( I have not switched the main TV on in maybe 4 months) but I do go a lot. So I am not an Anorak. I could just have a small flat if not for the clutter.
I hate throwing anything away, unless it needs cleaning, then its binned. I recently began to sort out my cellar (basement for those from the US) and I found 23 small, yellow, plastic ducks. Most people would think how stupid to have 23 small, yellow, plastic ducks and I can understand that but no not I, I just sat and wondered were the other 7 had gone!
I buy all sorts of stuff, I just do not need.
I need a laptop or two (back up, netbooks. Linnux running from USB sticks as further backup or if I can't travel with a netbook). A good frying pan.
Clothes you can get there, coffee and many types of coffeemakers you can get there. Hmmm. I think on my next trip I'm gonna go without the traditional 100 lbs of baggage. Already got a few things stashed with a friend.
REALLY, you need to TOSS LOTS OF STUFF if you are gonna make this work. Sure put some in storage. Rent out the house?

I totally agree and that is what I am doing here, 'tossing off' does not really translate well so I will accept I am 'throwing it away'. Moving to a much smaller house, while renting this one. Settling there for a few months before the next smaller move. It is, as you say, in great need of doing but I have no wish to bring more than the very basics to SEA, and am currently busy in that de-cluttering work.Mr Curious wrote:If you're gonna have any chance of getting to Cambodia much less STAYING there you gotta ditch most ALL THAT JUNK. word of advice , whatever u cant find in Cambodia just hop over to Bangkok where you will find EVERYTHING that u need/want an than grab a taxi to bring it all back

Hey, never thought of that...(sorry to derail), but how much are these taxis and are there straight to Phnom Penh to Bangkok cars (with visa check, etc of course)?

taxi to Battambang apx $50
taxi to Pailin ( Border) $25
taxi to Bangkok 2,000 baht
these are u buying the taxi shared seats are much less an bus is less again.
You could do it for $10 bus to Batt, $5 for shared seat to border, 200 baht for bus or 60 baht for train to Bangkok
or fly for $50-80 book in advance pay for extra baggage coming back air asia
