Old NaNa Hotel renamed to Wei Si Deng Hotel (near GSM)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Here is a review I saw on tripadvisor "This place since day one was one from nightmares ,receptionist who didnt know even his name, dirty bed sheets, dirty walls, cocrouches big as my hand, breakfast non existent !full of 60+-gents that pull young cambodian girls....Iam so glad iam out of there"

What is the appeal of this place to you?
Posted in January 2019. This is 1 opinion and was still the old NaNa hotel. Now rebuilt and Chinese. And maybe / hopefully better.
Well, I wouldn't have posted the negative review if I did not see a bunch of others. That is an area (Golden Sorya) I would not recommend to people on holiday, and a cheap Chinese run hotel in any area would be a place to avoid.

I think I read you stayed here before? What is it about this place that you like?

I was in NaNa. That does not exist anymore. I did not ask for NaNa. I asked for experiences with the new hotel and the new owner.

Wei Si Deng Hotel in Phnom Penh nearby GSM

Post by SHV9 »

It is the sold and converted old NaNa hotel.
Many barangs and tourists know the old hotel.
My experience in the new Hotel:
Almost all furniture is new.
New air conditioning, TV, kettle, mattress, sheets, towels.
The room is newly wallpapered, ceilings painted. Bathroom tiles are the old, shower amatures and water heater new.
No door key more but plastic card.
Near the reception lockers.
Restaurant not opened yet.

I see they have short time rooms for $10, were there people inside with prostitutes?

Ten bucks for one of these with short term girl already inside?
Sounds about right for a joint like this.

And yeah, 'safe to leave the key in the door too.

This place has a dubious past looking at the related topics at the bottom. I wonder if they excised the ghosts as part of the refit and rename?
