Weather in June?

Post by snookieboi »

Planning my journey is a bit challenging. I was gonna do North Vietnam/Laos, then end up in Cambodia June.

However, 'selective Asia', states that June is really rainy on the Beaches, which may be a right pain if it's gonna be grim.

What do you have to say about June weather?

yeah rains a lot here in June,
the fact we had a really wet wetseason last year, and its rained an unusual amount this dry season, id be guessing it could end up being another wet one

temp wise will still be up in the mid 30s

Apparently the rain helps cool down a bit. My question is this: Would you choose dry hot April over June? Maybe April will be undearable? And in June, will it be cloudy all the time on the beaches?

deffo June over April,
April/May - whilst great weather (lots of sun and heat) it just gets uncomfortable a lot of the time, last year the temps got up to 43'c in the daytime and wouldnt drop below 35'c even at night
vv last april vv that was the actual temp, the "feels like" temp was much higher

but as you mentioned, the Rain does help cool down the air after, but it also makes the months pretty humid, compared to April when the air is a lot drier, so whilst it does cool down slightly, it doenst stop you from sweating lol
the best temps are between november-january, just after the rainy season and before the dry season kicks in

Thanks for that help Jamie.

I guess it's better to hit the cooler hills of North Vietnam first then.

June is pretty good for N. Vietnam. The rice paddies will be green, it is not too hot yet and rains haven't started (normally).

Sorry, misread. The problem is that the rice paddies will still be barren in places like Sa Pa so it might not be as scenic as it could be. You might also have some rain.

Yes, i read about the rice paddies being not green. That will be a shame. The rain is also an issue.

Then again rain will be worse in June, no?
