GM; on ur way home , stop by

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. GM; on ur way home , stop by

Post by phuketrichard »

PHUKET: Qatar Airways non-stop daily flights to Phuket International Airport from its Doha hub began yesterday, with the airline making good on its announcement last month.

“The start of non-stop services from Doha to Phuket offers travellers from around the world access to the popular tourist destination in a reduced time, from across our expanding global network,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker in a press statement.

Note: There is NO bar or any other outlet selling booze for consumption in Doha airport! I was stuck there recently with an 8 hour transit at night time, wasn't worth leaving the airport. Had to buy duty-free liquor and mixers from a restaurant so that I could sneakily have a tipple :beer1:

They are currently constructing a new terminal, not sure when that'll be ready though. Hopefully there will be somewhere to grab a beer in the new terminal.

I had a couple beers there as recently as 3 weeks ago.

Maybe it's new, as I couldn't find a place the first time a few months ago, but they definitely have a place now.

It's the fancy looking bar in the middle that serves fresh seafood displayed on ice. In the same area as that HUGE Winnie the Pooh bear.

^ Great to know, cheers for the update GM! The new terminal must be open then by the looks of it.

*I must admit, when I said recently, it was actually about 5 or 6 months ago now that I think about it.
