Watch what you say ...

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What do you think about the prosecution using comments made on the other site being used as evidence?

As he launched his cross-examination, Riisager continued the aggressive tactics with which he began the prosecution on Tuesday, asking Warg to comment on an article in Khmer440, an expat news site in Cambodia, which claimed that by the time of his arrest in 2012, he was "messed up on drugs", and "a total recluse" whose only contacts were "his dealers and landlord."

I'd say this is total bullshit;
Svartholm Warg's defence lawyer Luise Høj attacked the prosecution for its "aggressive" start to the trial, protesting that a video shown of squalid conditions in his Phnom Penh apartment at the time of his arrest was "totally irrelevant".
He was living above the Cadillac on riverside, not exactly squalid conditions

It appears that the article is wrong. None of this was said on 440, neither in a thread nor the front page article. It was said in an e-mail interview for Wired magazine by somebody from 440.

And I can't imagine secondhand hear-say about a messy apartment and other such minor stuff amounts to much in count. If this is the worst stuff they can come up with to impugn his character, I think they may be making an inadvertent argument for the defense.

This.

Seems silly they would even attempt some of this stuff.

But, you can't un-ring a bell. I always find it funny when the judge/jury is told something, then they're told to just forget it because they weren't supposed to hear that, LoL. :facepalm:
