Warning on social media of Phnom Penh scam/robbery.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I'm only worth rolling at the ATM a few days a month actually! They might have to keep me for weeks.

Maybe she had a few different credit cards? That wouldn't be unusual. I do find the whole story a bit fishy though. Could be just a victim scam by someone who has read up on tricks here, or maybe it's just exaggerated. I would actually like to know, if it's true it's ominous for young women or anyone else visiting ATMs.

Another bullshit or exaggerated story... No ATMs in Cambodia allow daily withdrawal of over $1000.

Reminds me of that Kiwi chick who had a story posted in the NZ Woman's Day magazine claiming that she was scammed out of $30k + in one night (via ATM withdrawal) by Filipino blackjack scammers in PP...BS!

If you are an account holder then you can usually get a higher daily withdrawal limit with your banks ATMs, but not with a foreign card.
