Walking Dogs along Train Tracks in Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Not likely she’d get hit per se, but the stopping distance on a freight train is pretty long and it takes a lot to get back up to speed. So the moment they spot her they have to start braking hard way ahead of time even if they think she will move. Heck, she might be cheerily waving them past with no idea of the trouble she caused over a mile back.

So it’s less a case of her being in grave danger and more a case of it being a selfish disruptive thing to do.

Since when did they start employing alert and aware train drivers who were were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol??

It's one of those odd questions! Thing is your educated, so you know what the possible dangers are. I have kind of addressed this type of subject in the past here in Cambodia, and most results end up with accidents, people sleeping on the train tracks, usually after a skin full of beer, here the end outcome we read in the news of their deaths. Some people have not seen trains before, and don't seem to understand the dangers of their own actions. It would be good to know, and more so near the areas of railways that at least the kids in schools are being taught on the dangers of playing on the tracks.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
