Vung Tau

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

If surfing is your thing the answer is no.

Saturdays and Sundays the Back Beach is packed with holiday makers from Ho Chi Minh.

The traffic on the weekend is crazy around Vung Tau. Vietnamese families and friends wearing the same patterned shirts ride motorbikes around. Traffic jams and beeping horns make the weekend unpleasant.

Week days are a relief.

F.L.B., do you still fancy the place?
I was just curious about it since so many former SV residents have moved there.

There are very few Chinese... and better infrastructure.
The weather is great and the air is clean.
The cost of living is low.
There are beaches, and it's: pretty, clean and well run.
It's not a big city but you can get anything you want.
You could be next.

I am not overly concerned with the social profile. I don't really go to pubs and such. I enjoyed living in SV when I was there.
Obviously it is no longer an option.

Thanks Papz, never been over to VN, but will go looking for a wave one day. I thought your area with the point/corner situation might be a possibility.
Da Nang area maybe, mid year they tell me.
