Visiting Country Cousins

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Visiting Country Cousins

Post by Duncan »

Took my three girls, 8, 10 and 17 years old to visit their cousins in S,'ang today. This makes them appreciate that having a bedroom and toilet to themselves and all the other luxurys they have. Besides that it's good for them to keep in touch with their cousins.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

They get $5 , total. to clean these spring onions and it takes the three ladys about 6 hours. That works out to
??? each.
Stage one is trimming the roots off, then cleaning dead bits and dirt off.

Family working together to make money. Shame on them!!!! I am not sure I understand the point pf this post? Lots of folks in this country should be earning more than they are.
You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone? That's common sense leaving your body.

What utter bollocks. I used to work for extra pocket money when I was a kid. My dad was always sending to help people with gardening and stuff. I loved it.. lived the money too lol. I had a regular weekend job and while I was studying A levels I used to help a guy deliver milk on his round. My weekend job was general gardening work for a retired Colonel and his wife. The old guy was captured by the Japs at the fall of Singapore (I think it was Singapore) and spent a few years as a POW building the death railway. A colourful chap I might add!

Anyway.. working as a kid (when not at school) gives a young person worth and let’s them appreciate the value of being paid for their efforts. Something too many kids these days seem to lack!

I'm with you on that one cause I don't understand the point of half the posts on this forum.
However I hope it enlightens some people that it's not everybody that gets a monthly salary of $180 in a factory .

And of course the country cousins must make a return visit to their city slicker cousins. and this is where the cooking skills of a ten year old come in to action and she makes scrambled egg and Milo with milk and ice for little sister and three cousins

Next step is homework.

The one thing that you will find a lot of in this house is
paper ( A4 photo copy)) books, pens and pencils, and a ten year old that likes to teach the other kids.
