Someone posted a request for clarification from migs which has gone unanswered. But to be fair, they've been busy debating the merits of holding a pissup at a girly bar so maybe he'll reveal his agent's info at a later date.
?? why? he just brought the forum, his knowledge is no more than anyone else's.

Re: EB + EG Visa Updates - October 2017
On the subject of a retirement visa I have just had a 12 month ER visa extension issued for my mother-in-law.
The only thing that was requested was a note of her registered address in Cambodia.
Age was not an issue (she is over 80) and there was no request for any evidence of retirement, pension etc.
My wife was issued with a 12 month visa extension at the end of August and got a 12 month EB extension.
At the immigration office on an unrelated visit she was told that next year she would need a Work Permit to renew it.
I have been informally told that if my company write a letter to say that she is a non-employed spouse of myself who has a work permit then she will get an extension- ER? EB? EG? who knows.

Yes I know that Dr. Dotard. I was obliquely defending him by saying that as an owner I would think that he might be more responsible with his posts and not just throw out unsubstantiated, unreliable hearsay on a substantive issue of late.
For example, if a certain 'Phuket2006' had made the post in question, I'd have probably dismissed it out of hand. Savvy?

This is true. Non-working Legal spouses and dependents of a foreigner holding an EB EOS & WP are entitled to an EB EOS without requiring a WP (as long as they don't work, if they work then of course they require a WP). A letter from employer and evidence of marital status and guardianship for dependents is required.

Unclarified and unreliable source. Hearsay or talking shit. I would hope it to be true, like so many here would prefer to pay fines or tea monies, it's all too easy to give in to continues payments, and aid some peoples pockets of the land of corruption. Nothing official and no time given to the endless paper chase for the appropriate documentation, thus better time spent on drinking and whoring.shlomo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 12:23 pmTo where did he bring it?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 12:01 pm ?? why? he just brought the forum, his knowledge is no more than anyone else's.

Now if the new system is in play, it's very unfortunate for the long term sex tourist, binge drinker or drug dependent, now needs a work permit or an ER visa. And at this point I would like to add, I don't like the two tier pricing system, equality would be nice. Living in the KOW doesn't hold too many surprises anymore, it's maybe just due to the country's moving forward and hopeful development and legal payments, which may prove more expensive in the foreseeable future.
Darkness and uncertainty over what type of valid visa's and work permits of 2017 will cloud many minds and pockets for sometime. That is until it is all made clear for the visitor or long term expat. So what is the answer for the correct information! Forum sites or going to a reliable agent, or visiting official sources.
Yesterday I had a visit from a government official from the labour department. A nice social visit, and to keep me aware about renewing my work permit at the turn of the new year so I did not occur the daily $10 fine for being without.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: EB + EG Visa Updates - October 2017
Now you guys have me confused. I got the "Ordinary" E visa which, for me, ended up being the EB visa which I got for 1 month. Some of you guys said that after the 1 month, it could easily be extended for 1 year and that would give me time to find a teaching job. So what's the real situation? This is serious stuff for me so please let me know. Thanks.

About 1 week to 10 days before your visa expires, go to Lucky Lucky and apply for an EOS. Most probably an EG, which means you are looking for work.
If you find a job before then, you need a letter from your employer and can apply for an EB.
Unless of course you have bucks in the bank, you could go for an ER.
