I'm glad you wrote that because the first thing I thought after watching the one second of the accident, is that it is a Khmer set up to disrespect foreigners. The missing facebook video I mean. Someone obviously deleted those first seconds. How fucking tedious of them. Maybe Trapper is more right than any of you would like to admit.

If it is not a set up, then how fucking stupid can you get  it's as plain as plain can be. Let's face it, only a Khmer wouldn't know who was in the wrong.

I want to set up a barang v Khmer driving competition, but I know they will make some excuse to get out of it.

Edit, soz but it brought out the anger in me, as I had just had someone trying to wipe me out in a similar way. Young idiot doing a speed donut to change direction from the roadside into opposite traffic without looking. Missed me at speed by about an inch. I was on a moto.

I wouldn't drive a car here if you paid me to. Unless it was raining, because all the motos get off the road.

Final comment, car drivers need to leave lots of room by braking loads and not going over 20 and be fully aware of what's happening around them at all times, so in a way, it is the car driver's fault. But the guy just basically swerves under his wheels.

No indicator, no head check, no mirrors.

Yeah, technically car should leave room to break, but Cambodian traffic never actually leaves any room anyway.

Even on a bike I have a dozen people do exactly this in front of me every time on on the bike. I've come to expect anyone along side me or coming up from behind will cut across in front of me the very moment their head passes my front wheel, as if their bike stops at the back of their head.

Good luck to the driver. I'd have pissed and moaned too, but then dolled out $50, then fuckoffski.

This is roughly what I was thinking. Only give the kid 100k-200k riel. The cops $50. In that currency order.

Look at the following link the moto has came up the right inner side of the car and swerved into a small gap between moving cars

I think that would have worked at the scene, but now there are cops involved and 2 impounded vehicles. Those 2 factors have to add a lot to the amount of money needed to move things along.

The kid's had time to go get a fake receipt from a doctor's visit now too, showing that he was very seriously injured, LoL.

But, without a shadow of doubt, it's ALWAYS the barang's fault. Just ask the first copper on site. An elephant call fall from an airplane and land on a moto - the first barang to arrive on the scene on/in a vehicle is to blame, according to Khmer society.
Absolutely untrue in our case.
A moto ran a red light and hit us.
Khmer friends conducted the negotiations on our behalf and our repairs were covered 100%.

I don't think SUV drivers should hit the gas the moment a moto drifts three inches clear of their front bumper.

Like in most accidents, both drivers are partly to blame. They should just make the white guy pay half the damage to the bike and half the medical bills.

Hate to say it, but also under Australian law, you are to blame, you hit him from behind. Charge could be anything from following to closely to driving without due care and attention, to reckless driving. 100% your fault. In a civil lawsuit, things would no doubt be different and the portion of blame may even go your way. However, under the traffic code, you are quite simply 100% to blame.
Funny how we keep knocking the Khmer drivers/riders, yet fail to use the experience and training we should and claim to have.
If people drove like they do here in Australia, everyone would be booked. Don't be so ridiculous. You can't compare. No spaces in PP. Except at the traffic lights or in traffic jams, caused by SUV's and tuk tuks driving all over the road.

Yes, I can even see you swerve to the left a bit to give him more room.
Bad luck. My advice small calm voice at all times and if you don't like something they say, keep quiet and smile till they change their minds. Never, I repeat never, start shouting. I'm sure you know this already.
