A Very Sad Expat Story in Kampot - BUT with Happy Ending

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

The first thing I do when I get my salary is give it ALL to a Cambodian. She then doles it out to me so I spend it responsibly. I was an economic wreck before I came to this country, now I'm on my feet because of a Cambodian.

I'm not too optimistic. How can you steal a land title from someone not entitled to have a land title?

Yes, if the Nominee system is illegal, Tom would be doing well to even get a percentage of his money back.
The motivation to achieve a win for Tom could be to perpetuate the Nominee system as its a good earner for agents and lawyers.

I don't know this couple at all
But, call me a sentimental old fart, I love this photo and would welcome them into my home any day of the week.
I hope the roulette wheel of justice lands that little white ball of good fortune - smack bang on their number today.

They aren't a couple, and I don't know either one, except I know the lady sells property..

She has a rival estate agency to the one that allegedly fleeced the Alaskan dude, so it behooves her to be seen to be his savior, particularly to expat community.

Positive publicity basically.

I'm such a sentimental old fart that i reckon they should get married anyway.
They are both so "folksy" that it would work for sure.
