Verbal High Open Mic Stand-up Saigon Special

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Verbal High Open Mic Stand-up Saigon Special

After the Water Festival put a dampener on last month's Verbal High, December's acts are raring to get on stage and let loose on a range of tight comedy topics.

Verbal High are pleased to announce that some friends from the Saigon stand-up scene will be in attendance to share the stage with some of the regular stalwarts of the Cambodian comedy circuit.

We'd like you to help us extend a friendly Phnom Penh welcome to our cheeky chums and show them the warmth you're renowned for other than pissing your pants.

Head on out to join us and our Saigon contingent getting our laughs on at Meta House on the first Friday of December.

Or stay at home, all serious!

The show is slated to start at 8pm. Entry is just $1—free if you get in before 7.30pm. Please note that seating spaces are limited in number. Arrive early to guarantee a seat—arrive late for standing-room only!

Verbal High is proudly brought to you by our sponsors:

Kambutea Brewing Co.
A locally produced, natural brewed, probiotic health beverage containing beneficial nutrients known to boost and maintain the body's immune system. Comes in many flavours and tastes great, too.

The Flicks.
Phnom Penh's favourite independent movie house continues its support of the Cambodian comedy scene. As well as the showing of contemporary cinema releases, The Flicks also bust out retrospective classics and all the latest episodes of popular TV series

EARS
One of Verbal High's favourite charities in Cambodia, EARS is an elephant foundation — based in Hong Kong — helping to educate the public in Cambodia and South-East Asia about the plight of the Asian elephant in the wild and the misuse and abuse of captive elephants used in tourism.

Should you wish to perform a stand-up set at any of our future shows then please contact us to arrange booking a slot, details of which can be found at http://www.verbal-high.com

Each show has a crowd participation section should you wish to flex those funny bones: participants who can create the best jokes based around the randomly generated theme of the evening will win prizes donated by our sponsors including bottles of Kombutea, a pair of all-day inclusive tickets from The Flicks, or, from EARS, matured elephant dung.
