Urgent appeal for dog whisperer after accident

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

The above is a critical issue that is changing minute by minute - please, if you have contacts at Calmette, or friends/family that do, contact Yulia urgently. Apart from damage already done both from the accident and from subsequent (possible) incorrect handling of a spinal injury, there is very great risk of further preventable damage leading to paralysis or worse. Can't over-express the urgency of this.

Very sad. He seems like a family man with a young kid.

I would imagine he'd have some decent police contacts through the K9 Units he's trained. Maybe they can get someone to help out.

There is also a Facebook donation page, similar to GoFundMe, that has raised $3000 of a $15,000 goal.

'For most of you that don’t know, my older brother Rattana was involved in a horrible
motorcycle accident this weekend when he was struck and ran over by a speeding pick up truck driver while commuting. His injuries are severe and he has begun the process of undergoing surgery with the help of a talented foreign neurosurgeon team thanks to the help of some amazing friends and colleagues of his. He is stable but unable to move and and is currently in ICU at Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh. The road to recovery will be a long and arduous one but we are hoping for the best.

Those of you that know my brother, know how strong and resilient of a fighter he is. He has undergone the most difficult of personal life challenges and has been able to turn his life around because of the ambition and determination he possesses. Rattana has dedicated his life to caring for his wife and two children while operating his business in helping others with his k9 training academy.

As expected, with the road to recovery beginning to take motion , so will the incurring of his medical expenses. Anything and everything helps and your care and generosity are greatly appreciated.'

He's fighting quite a battle with a broken spine, lung infection and now infection at the site he was operated on for his spine. He was airlifted to Thailand after much drama a couple of days ago. He is in ICU where costs are $3000 a day.

The cold hard reality is that people may be fighting to keep him alive when being alive means he may never walk again, however that's an unknown right now, and while it's an unknown I have felt compelled to contribute.

We each are compelled by different things, we each have our own criteria and thresholds. No judgment, but if you want to contribute to costs, here are the details.

This situation is close to me and our social enterprise. Rattana is one of the good guys and deserves all the help he can get. If you're one of those on social media who are criticising how he's being helped, and how much support he's receiving, and you're not part of the solution, my very professional suggestion to you is that you should STFU. Your opinions on how other people's donations and advocacy should or could be differently used are irrelevant, and you right to express those opinions online are met by the collective right of his supporters and advocates to tell you to STFU. Negative comments simply tell the world that you're a knob, and that you should STFU.

Agree with what Violet and Stroppy said. What a horrible situation.
Best thoughts to his family.
