Rutiger obviously cannot read, or pretends that he cannot read. Is he from Tasmania where 50% of people are illiterate and the other 50% cannot read?

Nothing brings out the group-think forum droolers spouting their predicatable rants over and over like a bash-the-NGOs thread.

So you have no rebuttal and have defaulted to throwing around insults. Are you a Vlad sockpuppet?

If you had read the OP, then you would have seen that this thread was about "certain types" of NGOs who like to concentrate on raising money overseas for high-profile third-world victims, such as "child sex-slaves", in order to get as much funding as possible for their organization.Rutiger wrote:Nothing brings out the group-think forum droolers spouting their predicatable rants over and over like a bash-the-NGOs thread.
You yourself suggested earlier in the thread that such organizations might be more useful by raiding garment factories for trafficked underage workers. I've just reread the whole thread, and nowhere does anyone attack serious NGOs who are here on the ground trying to help trafficking victims, even if there is disagreement on ways, means and targets. However, there is fair criticism here that the organization The Exodus Road has made claims that are untrue or exaggerated for marketing purposes.
As I said before, you (and others) may believe that the end justifies the means, but I disagree. That does not make me a "drooler"
Also:
You do realise that in the above post you are insulting people for posting their opinions just because you don't agree with them, after all that you have said about encouraging people to post here on CEO ? I wouldn't have said anything normally, but previously you have made a point of telling people on this forum how you think they should behave.
There's no conspiracy here. Chill out. All's cool .

Rutiger's cool. He gave us some good ammo to inspire us to write shit on this thread. We need at least 2 opinions otherwise ....

Nah. i responded there to the one guy who said i couldn't read or whatever, as he contributed nothing to any discussion either way. And worse still, he had the nerve to suggest i might be Australian! ::shudder::Anchor Moy wrote: Also:

Human trafficking for sex work? It's mainly in people's imagination. The UK had endless "stop trafficking campaigns"; then the police did something - a 6 month period of raids across the nation on sex workers and brothels. Number of trafficked victims found? None. Read about it here - http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/oct/ ... uiry-fails
"The failure has been disclosed by a Guardian investigation which also suggests that the scale of and nature of sex trafficking into the UK has been exaggerated by politicians and media.
Current and former ministers have claimed that thousands of women have been imported into the UK and forced to work as sex slaves, but most of these statements were either based on distortions of quoted sources or fabrications without any source at all."
While you can persuade women to sell their sex for cash; there's no need to force women to do it. There has never been a shortage of sex workers anywhere. Even Saudi has brothels (the clients have to marry the hooker - they use a specific form of marriage vow which is automatically revoked in the morning - no need for a divorce - it helps that Saudis can marry 4 women mind you, so there are no bigamy charges to worry about).
NGOs selling the "human trafficking" line are full of shit. Sex workers are volunteers, sadly that goes for the children too - who are brainwashed into believing it's essential to keep mummy and daddy in the lifestyle they wish to become accustomed to.
For once I have to agree with the pineapple whisperer... sex sells and it's easier to attract attention to "poor girl forced to fuck for a living" than "poor girl forced to work in a sweatshop until her fingers are deformed by the time she reaches the age of 21".

Sorry Grinch, I don't agree with you as far as places like Cambodia go. I believe there are a lot of trafficked, or whatever you want to call it, women and children here ( if trafficked means sold by poor parents from another province etc) and in the world. Read McMafia for more on eastern European trafficking. I would agree that the Asian underage stuff is not being addressed by NGO's though. The only time that a middle-aged fat white bloke has anything sexy about them is when they appear as the moral hate-bate in an NGO's cry for help (Cash).TheGrinchSR wrote:Human trafficking for sex work? Oh there's plenty of straight up slavery (indentured labour) but sexual use for trafficking? It remains bollocks whether you're Asian or Western. You can get a volunteer hooker for about 10 cents a bang in China's rural areas, for example, hardly worth throwing somebody in chains when the volunteers come that cheaply is it?juansweetpotato wrote:Sorry Grinch, I don't agree with you as far as places like Cambodia go.
