ultimate frisbee
ultimate frisbee
So, the Olympic committee has accepted "flying disc" as a discipline, which includes ultimate frisbee. I'd like to take this huge step forward for the sport, to try to recruit some more players for the sport in Cambodia!
Ultimate frisbee in Phnom Penh is growing fast -- with both Cambodian and expat players -- and we would love for more players to join us. Ultimate frisbee is a mixed-gender team sport. It is very accessible and we are beginner friendly, but it will still be a hard work-out. Apart from playing this (in my opinion) awesome game, we do a lot to improve local players, and we regularly have some fun social events with a nice mix of expats and Cambodians.
We play very frequently (normally 4 times a week!). For the summer we 'only' play twice a week, but are seeking to increase that (any tips on decently maintained fields are welcome). We welcome anyone at any time, but beginners are especially encouraged to join us on a Sunday when we train from 3pm and play a game from 4pm at North Bridge!
We also play Tuesdays on a small field at 3G (across from the Australian embassy) at 8pm. You can always try out (for free) to see if it’s something you’d like!
You can find maps and more information at our website: http://phnompenhultimate.com/pickup/ or look us up on facebook; https://www.facebook.com/groups/38943791964/ .
Also, as a testament on how well ultimate is doing in Cambodia, you can read a PP post article about the first all-Cambodian team to play across the border, here
