Tuktuk ad/billboard

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I just asked such a TukTuk guy and he said that it would be principally illegal.

A few tuktuk friends of mine said they were informed by the cops. But I see a lot of tuk tuk ads all over town did not have any Khmer scripts on them such as Metfone, guest houses, restaurants etc.

They seem to apply the same law that is already existent for business owners, e.g hotels, guest houses. The name of the hotel, business or whatever has to be written in Khmer and the Khmer wording has to be bigger than the English wording.

And the Khmer has to be above the English or 2nd language. Every time.

Except when Vietnam is involved.

the khmer script should be larger than the roman script as well as being on top.

I used to have a number of tuktuk ads. No Khmer script on them. It was never an issue. The authorities did try and get me to pay a sign tax for them though. I declined.
