Trying to live off 1100USD a month in Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Of course no. But does this mean that because of couple of bad apple should judge and be racist towards whole country?
If yes, then by that logic can start to call any American a pedo, murderous, and meth head and what else.

For sure you are not this simple. You are one of the old members who i respected as a smart guy, like i used to respect FLB but you guys have totally lost your plot.

Hardly a Crimewave. If there were 700k Australians or French there would obviously be more reports of crime.

So anyway.
It’s not racism but xenophobia. You can’t really be racist towards a nationality.

But yes I agree with you.

Uhh...Nigerians? Chinese? Mostly Black and Asian, last time I looked. Like most states in Africa and Asia.

If somebody says chinks/Japs/ etc...and people get upset..why do they get upset?

Some take it too far, for example Israel defines criticism of IDF actions as anti-Semitic, which is a blatant lie

Tbh I tend to agree with you, the world is becoming more cosmopolitan, but perhaps we need a forum policy statement

Also should consider that in Sihanoukville what businesses are happening. Casinos have always attracted the bad elements in every country.
Cambodians are letting this happening. It is up to them do they allow or no.
China will not allow this to happen long anymore and they will take care of this problem. With new Social Credit system on place, this will be cleaned fast and soon.

I hope so, Honey 69.

If they can only fix their wildlife carnage, I have no problem with them. OK, maybe the excessive noise, LOL :dragonchase:

The investment and the current building boom will continue. It’s not just PRC who are investing millions it’s the Singapore Malaysia and Hong Kong citizens.

New deep water port, new oil refining site, new highway to PP, more PRC tourists, lots of condos, new retirement city in Otres.
Wait till they start drilling for oil!

It’s not going to change back to what it was. Those times are gone. China will not do anything to de-stabilise the Belt and Road Initiative and their relationship to Cambodia and its strategic location.

It’s not just about a few casinos. There’s much more to it.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Nigerians are from Nigeria (there are white Nigerians). Japs are from Japan. Chinese could be from anywhere. There are 50 million outside of PRC, nearly 10 million in Thailand.

Chinese could be from anywhere..LOL, so why call them Chinese? Why not call them American? Or African? Or Australian? Simply because you are, yourself, thinking in racial terms.

How many white/black Chinese are there?

How many white Nigerians are there?

How many Caucasian/black Japanese?

How many Caucasian/Asian/ non-Semitic Saudis?

You know the answer. For these nations, they are predominantly typical.

You can't say the same about America or Europe, sure.

But, hard as it may seem, America and Europe is not the whole world.
