Tourist status

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Tourist status

Just wondering what level of involvment I should be aiming at to elevate my profile above that of "tourist" , although it could be worse, could be "backpacker".

are you a tourist? or expat?
learning some lingo above the level of "Hello" "how are you" "how much?" and "thank you" usually helps and might get you some compliments

I remember the good old days, when you said orkun/awkhun, it was giggles all round. " You speak Khmer. " Embarrassing now.

As to your question OP, just keep posting and (after so many posts) you will become a normal person here. Not difficult. :beer3:

Yeah sorry I guess I wasn't really clear was I, I did mean the CEO status and thanks for the answers I will just post more, more kposting less lurking. IRL I am pretty sure I don't get seen as a tourist, no elephant pants or any such accessories and I do speak a little more than suggested although I feel I should speak much more and don't due mainly to laziness(i am too busy don't have the time often seems to be my excuse), but of course I do have time really, still I'm not doing too badly. How many posts do I need to get immigrant status? :) Thanks again
