Toul Tompong pubs

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Toul Tompong pubs

Post by frank lee bent »

Thinking of moving to PP in September and am attracted to the cheap prices for rents around toul tompong.

Wondering if there are any after work places for a beer and non fancy western food in this area?

No...that is something which is severely lacking in TTP, a decent pub/bar. Recently Coffee Corner have built a bar upstairs and have called it the Corner Bar, but its not the sort of 'after work place for a beer'.

Some of the 'Western' oriented restaurants in the area don't even sell any alcohol because they're run by religious NGO's or something.

If I had the time, and wasn't working away so much, I would be tempted to open up a small bar myself in TTP. A place with a pool table, cold beers, good selection of music and a minimal pub grub menu. Something that caters to expats, locals and tourists who enjoy having a drink at a decent bar without having to travel halfway across town.

So you are not welcome local :( . Until i read that part, i was thinking to visit your bar as you mentioned that you would put a pool table which i really like to play. .

Haha, no sorry Samouth, I did not mean it to sound that way at all and should have worded it better, I'm not a very good writer. Of course locals would be welcome (I better edit my post!) :beer3:

It is okay i just wanted to make sure whether i can go and visit your bar if you really open one. I think it is really easy to forget that there is no local posters as forum was mainly designed for expat  . I might can help you for free in interpreting with house owner in case you don't speak khmer or helping you in legal process like making a contract in khmer as well as in English. :)

I'm not disclosing details but an established business is opening a western-style pub with pool tables in TTP in the second half of the year.

Do you regularly go there? I really wanted to start playing pool again. Haven't been playing it for a long time.

Not open yet, opening later this year. I'm up for playing pool around TTP or BT if there's a small group interested.

Oop, i didn't read it properly. Sorry for my ignorance about abbreviation of the place in pp. i know TTP but what is BT.

I am up for playing pool too. I hope the table will not be so big for me to play as i am short.
