Toppin the charts!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

To be fair, that shit bothers most people who aren't themselves god-botherers.

By which you mean it bothers -you- right? Nah, to be honest, most preachy god-talk bothers me too, especially when it's from people who have to talk it because they don't walk it.

I was pretty impressed by the "god-bothering" discussions that have been driven by self-declared atheists here lately. Some of you guys really know your theology.

As internet users Google search and then follow links from the search result, Google databases record and analyze which links they choose to follow based on the search term, such as "Cambodia expats". The closer your website is to the number 1 search result, the better you are doing for that search condition.

So, sort of, yes.
The answer is most definitely a big, fat "YES!" Congrats to all of us, even the cynical bastards, LoL.

'cambodia forum' puts this place in 4th, behind Khmer440.com, livingincambodia.com (lol) and ngoforum.org (?)

This is a nice little place, good to read for a different perspective on things (minus the attention whoring christian stuff, which should be reined in IMO), but as for taking over the internets.... not really going to happen, is it?

'khmer forum' google search gets k440#1 and CEO #10!

It's all about the wording for delusion.....
LoL, I think you're getting a little confused with, "what came first, the chicken or the egg?"

Of course those terms, "Cambodia" and "expats" pull us up. Kind of why we chose those words in our name.

And we're #10 when you search for "Khmer Forum" and Khmer440 is #1? Ha! That's a WIN in my book! Being on the first page of Google is where it's at, and if we can show up on the first page of a result that the 11-year old Khmer440 is first on with such broad search terms, that's awesome for us! !

Also, the more people that easily find us, the more potential members we'll attract! : thumb:

It only makes sense that CEO succeeds. We run the place in a fair way, have a good group of knowledgeable and friendly members, only have one main competition (which has debatebly been going downhill lately, according to old timers who are members over there and have stated so publicly), and are still attracting new members who stick around.

And randomly, we have often started to have as many people online as Khmer440, which is quite a feat, and a huge leap in the right direction! Personally, I think it has a lot to do with Scobie seemingly on the verge of a nervous breakdown with all the asinine posts/posters he's been handling poorly over there, and mostly because with time we have more data to search for and read, and Google is really starting to take notice of that.
