I kept monkeys way back. They were very small Cotton Eared Marmosets that were surplus Edinburgh zoo had and they needed rid of. They were quite difficult to keep, needing special "monkey chow", lots of fruit and an infra red lamp. They were extremely difficult to catch or handle - they weren't pets, we kept them in a large aviary. They bred like crazy too. A year or two later the zoo started offering us Macaques or some other larger monkeys, there was no way we were taking those. They are dangerous as hell and also carry parvoviruses and Herpes B.
