Located on part of the Olympic stadium complex, it’s a a Khmer Mall designed by Khmer, built by Khmer, for the Khmer.

Rumored as the replacement to Sovanna Mall (soon to be closing), it’s a Mall with an (not yet finished) apartment complex in the front and a giant skybridge circle (that spans multiple streets).



Olympia Mall recently had a soft opening recently. It also had a fire in the underground parking lot as well.



On the ground floor, the central area has an escalator that goes directly up to the main food court on the fifth floor.



Otherwise all escalators and elevator banks are located at either end of the mall. Supposedly at the soft opening, escalators weren’t working, and everyone jammed into the smallish elevators.

All signs are in Khmer. Food does have pictures but NO numbers. A card needs to be purchased (like the Sorya Mall food court) for a 2000 Riel deposit and then money added to it. Then the card can be taken to the food stall and an order made.



The order came out wrong. But the mall has nice bowls.

With a don’t walk on the grass sign.



There is a nice kids play area / arcade on the third or fourth floor.





But the main attraction? The front entrance of the mall with the dancing fountains and the skybridge on the second floor that cuts through the apartment complex.



There is an underground parking lot, cars only. Moto parking is across the street somewhere. Plus the pedestrian entrance is via stairs on the outside of th mall, which is an added bonus during the rainy season. At least the entrance to the stairwell is covered.



The view from the skybridge is really nice. It spans multiple streets, and features stairs and elevators to get across various streets.









If you’re going for a visit, bring your better half. All directions are in Khmer. Several very lost barang wandered in and then wander out, still lost.

Don’t mind the exposed electrical boxes (now covered by fake ivy).



Or the broken toilets for the ladies.

I’m tired now, going to stop by Swensen’s before heading out.



There is a Honda moto promoter next to the Swensen’s. Every time someone even looks at their bikes, music is started (cranked to the max) and the sales pitch started.

"a Khmer Mall designed by Khmer, built by Khmer,". How long before subpar construction standards and lack of maintenance make it uninhabitable? 2 years? 5? And the bottom to top escalator was a stroke of genius.

Hey, I think that's a great idea.
Here's another Khmer idea that stops people throwing rubbish in the drain. Do away with drains on the road side.

Erm, many malls around the word has similar escalator? One example Terminal 21 in Bangkok. And there are "traditional_up_one_floor_at_time" escalators at the both ends of the mall where the lifts are too.
