Has the Chinafication started in Kampot?
Re: Has the Chinafication started in Kampot?
Surely Naga have 1.07 billion reasons to want to keep their 200km monopoly? Why would they share the pot?chkwoot wrote:How difficult do you think it would be for the government and Nagaworld to agree to change the radius to 150km?ned kelly wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:01 pmThey cant open a casino in Kampot.Naga World have a monopoly on casinos within a 200 KM radius of P.P,which expires in 2035Fourkinnel wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 11:53 am I heard that the Chinese have been granted licences to build or convert buildings for 10 casinos in Kampot. Anyone else can confirm true or not? Hope bloody not!

From the same FB
MahEng Hou My colleague’s company (large multinational) looked into Kampot and even spoke to the highest people.
They said “no casino licences” no matter what the price. Period. End of.
The governor is quite strict on this.
I can only assume the “Chinese” (wherever they are from) are looking to invest in property/land or opening up businesses because it’s too expensive in SIhanoukville and Phnom Penh.

MahEng Hou I understand they are already “sky high” because of the influx from SIhanoukville.
I have many Cambodian friends who’ve relocated there.

Why would the Chinese look at investing in Kampot over Kep? Or is the Chinafication happening in Kep too?
Given they seem to be into large scale resorts by the sea with casinos, I would have thought Kep would be a more logical choice? Is there a no casino rule in Kep too?

Although there is lots of empty land in Kep, much is not up for sale, although Chinese are there already buying small plots ( GF sister sold 6,500 sqM for over $620,000!! off the main road to the horse)clutchcargo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 11:49 am Why would the Chinese look at investing in Kampot over Kep? Kampot has river access to the deep sea as well
NO casinos in Kep or much of anything but seafood
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I didn’t see any causian around except -3-5 people. Almost everyone is Chinese here ! I was planing to visit pubs and hostess bars but I changed my mind. I will escape to Koh Rong Samloem tomorrow !
