Kampot notice board says 10 casino licenses for Kampot town

Supposedly they have already rented the buildings and are kicking people out.
Probably fake.

HAHAHA you think they're going to tell you before selling out to Chinese and lining their pockets?cedric.auberge-du-soleil wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 5:34 am
Some local Bong Thom are regualar guests at my restaurant, et from the answers I got, the Old Town will be protected and the World Heritage application is still pending.
Coastal zones in direction of Kep and Sihanoukville will see new touristical development, with some industrial zones on the outskirt.
The previous Governor of Kampot is now in charge of the coastal region, he is a straight person with a long term development vision.
Sure we will have a few chinese businesses in town, but if Kampot has lost her nickname of "The Sleeping Beauty", it should remain a Charming touristic place.

Some people have been kicked out already.
I doubt the whole casino thing. Naga dude is too wealthy to let that happen.

Don’t listen to Chinese whispers.

True what you say. But the issue is do they have to take everything for themselves?John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 12:24 amThere have been Chinese living in Kampot for much longer than that. The whole history of the south coast is very complex, but in a nutshell ethnic Chinese traders/ pirates controlled the whole south coast from Hatien to Trat by the late 18th century, and many others settled a bit more inland. Pretty much every town center in Cambodia was set up by ethnic Chinese too, including the capital.angkorjohn2 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 2:24 pm I heard the Chinese had lived there for over the last hundred years, the Chinese shop houses point to the chinafication of this period.

Well, I'd like to say it hadn't, but then a Lexus with two well heeled Chinese folk pulled into my front yard and began measuring the place.
Just rented it a week ago!
