Is the landmine situation actually that bad over there? I thought it was only the northern part of the Cardamoms toward Pursat and Pailin that was dangerous. And perhaps along the border. Anyone with some real insight?

Satellite firm draws blank in search for MH370
2018-09-07
A Chinese company that tasked 10 commercial satellites to a site above Cambodia in an effort to search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 said that photos recieved late Thursday show no sign of wreckage at the site.

The search came following recent media reports that claimed a plane had crashed in a high-altitude jungle in Cambodia.

However, aviation experts told the Global Times Thursday that it was unlikely to be the missing airliner, which disappeared with 239 people on board on March 8, 2014, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. So far, search efforts have concentrated on an area of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia.

Satellite photos received late Thursday show no plane at the claimed location, said Wei Shu, office director of Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co Ltd, which is based in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin Province.
Other satellites will take more images soon to verify the results, the company said.

That area around Phnom Aural was where a whole load of the retreating Pol Pot army regrouped after the Vietnamese/ Salvation Front drove them out of the East. The area was a hotbed of conflict for many years so there is a pretty good chance of UXOs and mines still lying undisturbed in the remote parts of those forests.

So, an expat in Cambodia, Zorba Parer, pulled together a helicopter crew and went searching for the alleged MH370 crash site in the Cambodian jungle. His conclusion? There was no plane.

Operation Mt. Aural: The Hunt for MH-370
A week ago, various reports emerged from the London tabloid scene, reporting that a google earth fan, Ian Wilson, had spotted a potential MH-370 crash site in a mountainous region near Phnom Penh. The area around Mt Aural is known to the local aviation community due to a number of aircraft crashes in that region over many years. There are at least three well known catastrophic aviation accidents which have occurred in the area, with wreckage mostly taken by local poachers.
While most of the aviation community in Phnom Penh, and the world, agreed it was highly unlikely to be the aircraft, we could not rule it out unless we had eyes on location. In addition these types of unsubstantiated rumors give false hope to the families, who do not need further mental anguish.
I quickly pulled together a ground crew, Nara S. Kang a local entrepreneur and Peter Byrne a London cabbie who has the ‘knowledge’. We drove to a public entry near the site, and started gathering information from the locals. One senior Khmer ranger, who lived out the Khmer Rouge times in the area, told us it was at least ten days to the location from where we were. He also did not want us to go more than 100 meters off track, without an armed escort. His fears were not only the rare tigers that live in the area, but the common illegal loggers and poachers who are rumored to be in the woods.
We walked the marked trail for 900 meters to the waterfall. We continued on a small foot trail from there for about 100 meters before finding a well-worn poachers trail. We found a different angle to get to the river. It was all hard going at this point, with underbrush, snake holes, and of course poachers. We relented, conceding that the old ranger was correct, moving 10 kilometers thru this terrain was a 1km/day exercise.
The waterfall provided excellent relief from the scouting mission. We emerged from the waterfall refreshed and prepared to take this quest to resolve the phantom MH-370 mystery to whatever level necessary. The families and friends would know the answer from the ground level, we could make that happen.
We returned by car, courtesy of Nara and his outstanding driving, and arrived back in Phnom Penh. Weary and unbroken we sat around for beers and discussed the next phase.
We resolved to push for a chopper overflight, and I put out the word to a friend at Helicopters Cambodia, Kevin Trelor. We took the next day off to consider everything, and by that evening I had resolved to return with or without a chopper ride.
Thankfully, an email arrived, and later an early morning phone call. Kevin wanted to prove this wasn’t MH-370, and offered to fly me and one journalist out to the site. I called in a couple of journalists, and Michael Carr responded. We met at the Russian Market, and jumped a Baja to Helicopters Cambodia head quarters about 3 minutes away.

And a report translated from Khmer into English about their expedition:

Airliners to Oral Mountain: MH-370 Mission Search

Last week, several London news outlets reported that a Google Earth geographic coordinator, Lan Wilson, found the location of the MH-370 crashing. In a mountainous area on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. In the Oran Mountains, the local aviation team noted that several times a plane crash occurred several years ago. It is clear that at least three have been triggered by the crash on the site, where the pieces were recovered. Illegal hogs that chop the forest.

Meanwhile, the Aviation Working Group in Phnom Penh and the world concluded that it was unlikely that the plane had crashed in the area because we could not determine it. It is clear that it is true or not, but we have to go straight to the eye. In addition, these vaguely rumors have made families lose their confidence even more as they are no longer suffering from a psychological crisis. .

At the same time, I led a new group, including Nara Kang, a local entrepreneur, and PETER Bryrne, who had the knowledge of this section by us Traveled to the entrance to the car and began searching for information from the people in the area. According to a uncle who lived in the Khmer Rouge period, he said the distance to the site was at least 10 times Day to where we used to live. And he advised us not to get away from the eyebrow, without the accompanying passenger, with more than 100 meters away, to make sure the wild animals are like tigers. In the jungle area, we also hear rumors about the illegal hunting practices in the forest area.

We followed the 900-meter trail of the waterway to the waterfall, and then went along the narrow paths, about 100 meters away, to the cliffs. Rocky trails, they always graft it every day. Then we arrived at the river. It is difficult because the area is full of small snakes, poisonous animals and especially illegal hunting robbers. We also decided to change our mind and realize that the Word of God's guidance has been right, that it will take at least 10 days to reach the destination. With the situation of the area a day, we can only walk one kilometer.

The waterfall of the waterfall has made us refreshed after this exhaustive mission. We decided to come back to prepare a mysterious campaign about the remains of the dead bodies of MH-370, despite the use of any means. In expecting a relative family to get some real information, we hope we can.

Then we decided to take the car back, thank Nara, who drove back safely to town. Despite the heat, we still decided to continue to advise more about the next stage of rest. We also reconcile by deciding that we use Helicopters Cambodia Helicopters, a friend of Kevin Trelor. We decided to postpone one day to make it complete. And that evening, we also returned home safely.

Also, we got a message and ringtone from Kevin that he wanted to join a research project, and he was also willing to open the helicopter. We and the journalists went to the area to research. In fact, I contacted a few journalists, but we decided to accept Micheal Carr because he responded immediately to our situation. We gathered at Toul Tum Poung Market and got taxi to the Helicopter Cambodia office immediately, where they were only about 3 minutes away.

We arrived just a few minutes before heading to the office and took a brief tour of the mission, and we met with Captains Wayne. Will join us as another member.

MICHAEL CARR

MH370 search mission

Flight MH370

I've been traveling in Southeast Asia for more than 25 years. I've also flown across countries, from Singapore to Sri Lanka and from Australia to Saigon, and many more, but I have never been to such a great mission.

A plane was spotted flying through a forest in Cambodia, according to Google Maps' photo. We are not sure whether it is MH370 or not. But if it is true, there will be a great deal of reward if it is the missing plane of Malaysia.

While I was sitting in a bar in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with the thrill of excitement, Zorba, a former Greek aerospace engineer and nasa, he initiated a team to I joined the mission to find the missing plane, and I was invited to participate as a journalist with him. I'm really happy.

The team has already entered the area, including Zorba, Peter, a driver from London and Nara, a young entrepreneur. They were informed that the area that had heard of the crash was about 20 miles away. Only in the jungle area to the beautiful waterfall and the slopes, we could not go any further, we decided to pause because the remaining distance It is 12 miles more, considering the situation is one mile, at least one day, and the forest is a scary forest.

Back Now Today Everyone is delighted by Zorba's decision to launch an airline training school in the Kingdom of Cambodia underway. It was smooth because he knew and had a good relationship with many of the relevant partners, and now he is driving helicopter activity. Doing 12 days more research in the forest. And I'm really excited because I have never been in the helicopter since RAF days and now I've ridden. To 18 Sqn Wessex with the team. Since the trip to Asia for 25 years, I have never participated in such a mission in my lifetime.

We have added strength in team with Zorba, Nara myself and African doctors who may be helpful in the event of a dangerous accident, Animal wounds or bitten by beasts, and Zorba also hires an AKA7's cover. These illegal hunting pirates may be less understanding if they see a stranger crossing their area because they need to protect themselves from bullets. Stem from the same enemy. They are like Banjo Boy in the Deliverance, which makes this mission really interesting.

Zorbar and our team plan to start this 8th of September, 2018 after preparing all the facilities for the adventure. At the same time, we are still waiting for more information from satellite flying to collect additional data from the area. At that time, I only had to wait for the summons to re-assemble again.

Get up from the morning, not even my phone ringing. I lift it up and defend it is Zorbar's call

"Time to come"

"When?"

"MH370 search mission"

"What? When? "

"Now, so fast .. Decide to meet up in Toul Tum Poung for another 15 minutes, so hurry up."

For those who did not know that the body was found by Google Maps in the jungle of Cambodia, and according to the tip, it should be the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. Of that. The chance to find it may be slim, but with this enormous reward, it is worth the try. We really want to be able to find it very early.

On the way to Phnom Penh Airport is not so crowded, so we have plenty of time left. The helicopter was parked at the waiting area. Soon it was sparked, I was sitting up and getting ready, and then we started to fly. In total, we have five members - Zorba, who is the leader of the mission, and completes this mission, from Lot Opener, CEO of my own fleet specialist. This is exactly what happened.

ZORBA PARER

The EC-130 T2 helicopter stood the most prominent position in my professional career, and I have deployed two versions of the military (EC-135 T2) in Darwin for a long time. But never tried to fly on this helicopter, I am so excited that Cambodia has such a good helicopter. The EC-130 was developed by Airbus, which is powered by a single Turbin, and comes with a patented Airbus Fenestron tail. Correct. The XU-502 (Identity label for the EC-130 Helicopter) requires only one pilot pilot, allowing passengers to see far ahead. With its surroundings filled with bright eyes, its many years of experience and his friend Timo make us feel very cozy in flight.

I am very proud to have joined the team with his professional pilot. Kevin is an important part of his team working on the HC flight operations. He is a good person with a good attitude in his leadership. Wayne is a silent man, and both of them really make us feel confident when they pull the belt and start smashing Mashin.

We caught up in the XU-502 seat with the door open so that it got into the air. Captain Wayne started to clear the brakes while Kevin walked. Finished, we closed the door, and we started setting up the altitude above the pitch immediately. The XU-502 is a high-quality aircraft suitable for monitoring the following, and the team is also a specialist specialist. Farting away from our eyes gradually, we gradually began to see the warm and humid hotspot of Cambodia. Seeing a hoot A white fly from the side of our helicopter. Being alerted to the plane, we flew to our destination at the northwest of Phnom Penh.

As we are marching east, approaching Mount Oral, we see many small mountain ranges on the road before reaching the top of the mountain to connect to the highest peak. Mount Aall, the largest mountain in Cambodia, we flew to the north to check the site entrance to the work plan to avoid There is a lot of cloud cover and so on Weather security in front of the northwest. Also, in the outskirts of the mountain, we find a lot of paths and old pieces of broken trees. Some of which have been illegally cleared.

We flew past the waterfall that we once had two days before, going westward to the second entrance Only about two to three kilograms arrived at the scene. We see a lot of clear cliffs along the shores of the jungle that lead to our target area. We're still heading north, Wayne also asks us if there are any other gateways to the other. I also said that there was no, and he continued to fly further to the west, so that we could easily see the line of sight and identify the right angle. We can find other planes that have happened in the region.

The helicopter wings are still against the air pressure and Wayne continues to fly. Even though the slope was hard, we still saw a pile of trails, piles of wood that had been cut off from the fields in the woods, and we Start flying over to the valley to see if there is a picture of a large plane nearby. We keep looking at the windows of everybody. And Wayne's Captain Low flying closer to the target area.

This area is marked by all the grapevines, we try to determine the area of the land flow so we can assume that it is likely that the plane Falling down, scrap metal, falling rocky forest cover, or any piece of planes that may be scattered. Scars were gone in the area and we found nothing. We try to keep it repeated several times, with the search engine still unwavering. In the mountains and national parks, there is nothing but footprints, footprints and illegal wildlife scars.

We decided to conclude that it did not seem to have any plane crashing down at this location. And we can say if the area is illegally clearing forest, so it would not be reasonable to have an aircraft crash. No one knows. The majority of people living here are poor farmers, and if there really is a real crash, all the pieces of iron will be collected or sold. And this is also the cause of the first plane crash in the world.

Contrary to what Google Earth says, this mountain is not an uninhabited area. We have seen houses in the valleys. Large lanes that show the orbits pass around. So it is common for people to smuggle it into woodcarving for Chinese customers.

After taking pictures of the landscape, Kevin asked if we should continue to search or conclude the results. And we also realized that there were no traces of aircraft crashing in the area. If there is a 777 or similar aircraft, we can easily identify its traces. And if it is true Any other activity that we can conclude will happen instantly, such as the collection of bodies or pieces of metal to sell.

The ZPAC, HC and Micro-space team could confirm to the Cambodian government that the MH-370 was not really there, and we did not see evidence or information. Which we can define as a definitive result.

After we decided to turn around and return to Phnom Penh, I felt much better because we did not have any reason to go deeper than that, which could lead to problems. And so on. As an aviation expert, this may be just a question of clarity. As I used to walk in the mountains, I strongly believe that such a jungle should not be drenched or explored, as it will affect the flow of forest resources.

I have a lot of friends in Cambodia, and I am convinced that they are not sure about supporting such wildlife. The important thing is that people with a limited standard of living with a modest amount of support are less likely to have an impact on you Wildlife, including concerns about the future of Cambodian forests and the mountains, we think that decisions made for short-term benefits do not work. It is of course that we should think about the local people, especially his livelihoods and national parks that may be affected, including the lack of adequate resources and The state of the forest itself.

We have already arrived in the area and have been using British surveillance technology several times, we have not seen any MH-370 bodies in the area. And it is also regrettable that the relatives of their relatives have not yet been able to verify the truth that the plane crashed there and that things were happening. . But what we can conclude is that there really is no such thing to fall into the Cambodian forest. "We have used specialists to check the area. To the lowest point of view, if there really exists, we will not decide to come back, just retrieve a bit. There's definitely no plane here.

MICHAEL CARR

Soon we left the town of Phnom Penh through the fields, the lush greenery, the young children, and the bearded animals.

As scheduled, we came to the same area as ours. After we got out of the rice field, we came to the jungle, with a wall, a wall and a stream. We can not do pedestrian research because it can lead to life-threatening not only because it is a quiet woodland, but it It can be dangerous because it is a jungle with many small, sloping slopes in the area, which can pose a risk.

We flew to the next area about 500 feet, where there was a spectacular view, but we did not see any signs that we could conclude that Certainly, any plane had crashed in the same area. The captain took us to the left, right, back, and so forth, but we still did not see anything but the rubble of the illegal clearing.

After exploring all over the place, we noticed many hind limbs that were almost invisible because it was too thick. Besides, we can only see broken boulders fall. This allows us to conclude that there are actually people in the forest, such as deforestation, and if the bodies of MH-370 fall here, Obviously, various pieces of precious metals are collected, sold or processed.

However, we have already arrived here. We could not find the bodies of the crew, but at least we found a real answer that there was never a crash. In this area, because there is not even a scar on the ground. And what should be known is that it is usually only action Illegal hunting, illegal hunting, etc. Residents of the area have said that it is normal to have the guns exploded to protect themselves if they encounter one another and, most importantly, if You want to be more careful about the forest, with the wild animals like snakes, snakes, etc., which can be found in thickets. I'm really happy that Kevin understands that we only pay $ 3,500. We are grateful

Finally, I would like to thank everyone Zorba Kevin, Captain Wayne, for giving us the opportunity to complete this story because we do not want to Families or relatives who were victims of the disappearance of the MH-370 were again disappointed. We concluded that the MH-370 was not there, so decided to end it.

---

Note

Note: Wildlife trips in the area can be described as very dangerous, and if you are not a military expert, you know the exact destination, you do not have to go. . ZPAC does not intentionally recommend wildlife trips in the area, as you may have to go with a hunters or rock climbers with different guns. On that hill. Thank you and thank you.

Brit Ready for Cambodian Jungle Search to Find Missing MH370 Using Google Earth
16.09.2018
In a bid to unravel the biggest modern aviation mystery, tech expert Ian Wilson will head into the Cambodian jungle in a couple of weeks after he allegedly spotted the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines aircraft on Google Maps.

The company will fly him around three miles away from the coordinates he determined because the jungle is said to be too dense, so, once landed, Wilson, accompanied by an experienced guide, will embark on his mission.

“If someone comes along, I’ll take anyone there. You’d have to walk from around three miles. We can drop him off or land anywhere, but he’s really got to sit down and plan the whole thing. It’s not as simple as dropping off and just heading into the jungle, it’s pretty thick in there. […] The risk is going in and getting lost if you’ve got jungle and tall trees. But you can get people to help you, hunters or working in that area,” the head of Helicopters Cambodia told the Daily Star.

Wilson, who is expected to leave for Cambodia in October, said that the company specialized in “going into really dense terrain.”

“There was a section called ‘special purposes’, so I said if I was to turn up, give you some coordinates, is it possible you could take me there? He said I know who you are, and absolutely you can take me there and gave me the price, which was like $4,000. The helicopter company said if we take you, we’ll get you right in there.”

Earlier this week, a group of aviation experts conducted an aerial search of the alleged area but found no signs of the plane.

However, private investigator Andre Milne told the Daily Star that their mission was “useless” due to the fact that they didn’t make the trek by foot.

“Flying ‘over’ a deep jungle growth forest to look for an aircraft that has been on the ground for over four years is virtually useless because of the thick vegetation that will have grown all around and over the aircraft making it impossible to see from the air. I know this from firsthand experience of having investigated aircraft and helicopter crash sites in tropical growth forest regions in the past. Google must confirm the authenticity of the image and the coordinates immediately, provided the image is deemed as authentic,” Milne was cited as saying.
