The good the bad and the ugly

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

tbh Samouth used to receive a bit of abuse sometimes,
but little salary she was well received and a regular contributor, only cut down on posting due to other reasons

This

I doubt she will be too happy to hear all the stuff you have been writing about her and telling the world about.

Maybe he was dreaming of beef jerky.

newkidontheblock, can you post, say 5 examples of this 'routine' chopping down? So far one poster has mentioned that if anybody's posts would embarrass your good partner, it would be yours...

A few other things I think are relevant:

1) your language could be interpreted to indicate that you pressured her to join
2) you claim that this 'grammar policing' is routine for Khmers...can we see examples? How do you know that these posters were Khmer, and not, say, Chinese or other NNS? I just find it surprising that you seem to be so sure of your facts, yet have presumably not reported these incidents to flb/UT/gm/jamilambo?
3) Are you not actually complaining about grammar policing on your posts, like pn did now?

Just asking, quite happy to be proved wrong. It's better to clarify things so mods can act on facts rather than assumptions, yes?

I think most of the flack he got was for content, not for grammar. The grammar may have been used as a tool, but the target was the content.

For sure, anyone who gave him shit for grammar mistakes in his second language is a complete dick. I doubt many here could write as many posts as him in perfect Khmer.

All the shit I ever gave him was for what he posted and they way he posted it not about the silly grammar and spelling errors.
