Words like "off the beaten path", jungle and wildlife are soon doomed to be anachronisms as Cambodia rapidly becomes ,Californicated.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

I've been looking at VT too. It seems to have a nice sort of balance between what's available and cost.
You could be next.

i used to like the lazy beach vibe down there, but now the place is turning ugly, losing a lot of its charm,
cant even say its anything to do with the "honeymoon/rose tinted glasses" period, the place has changed a lot,
tbh the only thing thats gradually improved over the past 5 years has been the square lol

Re: More changes in SNV
It's the official language of China therefore the most popular in and around that area, Speaking Mandarin and being Chinese are more connected than speaking any other language on the face of the Earth and being Chinese, I did use the qualifier (or the others) however listening off 11 other languages to learn would be a little far-fetched, I guess a person could figure the correct one before learning but where's the fun in that?bangkokhooker wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 7:17 pmSpeaking Mandarin and being Chinese are so not connected.JUDGEDREDD wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 3:52 pm And to think SNV was the first place on my destination list, looks like I'll be adjusting that. Tbh a guy could probably make a killing if he learnt mandarin (or the others)
Slow down little world, you're changing too fast.

Vung tau has the cheapest beer in south east Asia, and the most expensive bar girlsExPenhMan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 7:28 pm Two or three years ago I put S'ville on the short list of likely living destinations, since there were reports of it being on a bit of a rejuvenation trend. But the wrong kind, it seems. Had had enough of PP and its descent into traffic/people chaos. SR was a high choice too but it's choking with hipsters and sino-tourists. After a recent short spell back in Pattaya (what was I thinking?!?!?), tomorrow I'm shouldering the bags and headed to Vung Tau as a full-time resident. Yes, I've been back and forth but quiet, pleasant VT is only on the holiday radar of Saigonese. Just a bunch of Aussies and a few Russians.

You obviously have never run your own business and certainly never dealt with Chinese.
Chinese only buy off Chinese. You have nothing to offer them. You are inferior.
Hence my first reply.
