Too many people dying young
Re: American Kyle Robert Mills, 25, Dies in Siem Reap Hotel
This has been an urban myth for SO long here. IF you have ever had coke and heroin, there is absolutely no way you can confuse the two. JB got it right again - what kills people here is the fact that the hammer is so much purer than anything they have ever had, its OD territory straight away. When almost 100% pure hammer is available so cheaply, why would you cut it or substitute it with the more expensive and much harder to procure, (over here) Fanta? Just another load of bollocks from the local forum "experts".

In usa they prep some hotshot bindles to give an od so ppl think their brand is extra. Always use fentanyl for that. It helps sales to send ppl to hospital.
Nasty eh?

I dunno what cambodia you live in.....explorer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 6:46 pm Cambodians are not likely to do serious investigations.
I suggest, when someone dies, and you are not sure what really happened.:
See if the embassy will do an investigation.
See if the family will do an investigation.
Find out about the person. Was the person using drugs? Was there anything else?
What is known about the person in the days and hours before their death?
Was the person with a girl, or anybody, before their death?
Was money stolen, or bank accounts emptied, around the time of death? Police in their home country should be able to get this information easily, if the use a bank account from their home country.
If it looks suspicious, or unknown:
See if the embassy or family will pay for tests to see if the person had any substances in their body which may have caused their death.
See if someone will pay for an autopsy in a country which will do it properly.

Isn't the urban myth the story that heroin is sold as cocaine to people who are geographically challenged ? (ie.Cocaine is not produced in SEA and has to be transported from South America.) I can believe that some westerners think that they will score cocaine in Cambodia like they do at home, but the tuktuk dealer or whoever gives them heroin because that's what they've got.Hotdigr wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 7:50 pmThis has been an urban myth for SO long here. But in the end, it's all about making choices. Seriously, when you can't trust a tuktuk driver to get you to the Russian market without giving him directions, why would you trust him when he says he has good drugs ? He will sell you whatever you say you want, which could be anything at all. Be aware.

Often, in Khmer, drugs like Cocaine, Herion, etc. are referred to as ថ្នាំញៀន (t'num nhian, which literally translates to 'addictive drug').
Somewhat implying that 'they're all the same, aren't they'?

And what, pray tell do you hope to achieve from this investigation? I have to agree with Trapper on this - what Cambodia do you live in?explorer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 6:46 pm Cambodians are not likely to do serious investigations.

Mate, if you have ever tried either of them even once, you really can't mistake one for the other. Seriously. That's why I believe its an urban myth. There may have been the very odd instance of it, but just NO as an ongoing thing - in my opinion only mind you. But I have yet to meet (or read a media interview with) anyone that's said basically " Yeah, we scored some coke last night, turned out to be hammer. Me mate OD'd and died from it". And lets face it, coke is a social drug, a party drug. Groups of people tend to do it together and party. If you are into hammer, its more a stay at home and nod drug. Most deaths I have read about tend to be single people alone in a room. Again - just my opinion, but I know a little about this subject also.

Unfortunately fentanyl IS here, most likely because it's so cheap.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/3 ... -amsterdamTwo British tourists have died in Amsterdam after reportedly snorting white heroin which police believe they mistook for cocaine.
Their bodies were found in a hotel room in the south of the city on Tuesday next to traces of white powder.
Police in the Netherlands say the men, who were aged 20 and 21, were from England.
Officers told Newsbeat they believe the same dealers were involved as in the death of another British man last month.
'Strong evidence'
Police spokesman Rob van der Veen says since mid-September, 17 people have needed medical attention after taking white heroin in the city. All of them were tourists.
The 14 who survived received medical attention quickly - many of them needed CPR.
So what is white heroin?
"It is a sort of luxury drug," says Mr van der Veen, "people with a lot of money sometimes buy it, but normally they use it in another way.
"It looks like cocaine, but when people snort it the result is respiratory failure.
"Brown heroin is much more common," he says.
Mr van de Veen says white heroin is "much more expensive" than cocaine, but the dealer "sold it for the same price [as cocaine] several times".
"We think he doesn't know what he is selling", he says.
Officers think it's only tourists who have been affected because the dealer, or ring of dealers, sell drugs on the streets, and "speak very good English".
The police are calling for tourists to stay away from drug dealers.

Cambodia is last place one would want to overdose.
I have been in the emergency ward at calmette in 2010, they were litterally laughing and smiling whilst people flatlined.
