Tip trucks are very busy
Tip trucks are very busy
Many of you stay in the city, so it may not be the same. In the rural areas tip trucks have a lot of work this time of the year. Sometime soon the river level will rise, and some areas will become flooded. In the few months preceding the flooding, a lot of people buy soil, get it delivered to their houses, and use it to raise the ground level.

Just has they did in years previous, and in years to follow. Some will be lucky from using simple measures time after time, unfortunate not all, but that also depends on the severity of the flood water. I have noticed over many years from the clock tower side of the river of Kampong Cham, there the Cham community will take to higher ground along the main highway in makeshift accommodations for livestock and themselves, waiting for floodwaters to recede before they can return safely back to their lands.explorer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:10 pm Many of you stay in the city, so it may not be the same. They say that river levels are very low for the time of year, but down south there seems to be a lot of flooding between Kampot and Sihanoukville. And it's only been raining for the last couple of days along the coast.
Anyone who was planning a few days at the beach or on the islands might want to wait up, there's a lot of wind and a lot of rain right now.

Then again all chances of floods could now be controlled, with the easy method of the Chinese firstly closing their dams and so on down the river at other dams.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 7:04 pm They say that river levels are very low for the time of year, but down south there seems to be a lot of flooding between Kampot and Sihanoukville. Most of the houses are built high enough for people to stay in them when it floods. They then get around by boat, or by walking through the water. They do take their animals to higher ground. A small number of people with low houses, build makeshift houses on higher ground.AndyKK wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 6:49 pm Just has they did in years previous, and in years to follow. The children normally have a lot of fun playing in the water.

It is Sunday and I see you are not in the house of the Lord today.

Yes, children do enjoy the water, only thing with flood water if there is no strong current or objects that can do harm, the flood water is now doing the job of the sewerage system, since the human waste is usual to be below ground. The other thing that tends to happen in the floods, its not only people going for the high ground, but! there are many snake bites in the floods.explorer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 3:08 am Most of the houses are built high enough for people to stay in them when it floods.
