God, the rich and that teacher you despise.
I know you in real life and it's the same stuff too, at least you're consistent.

Yes, exactly.Kung-fu Hillbilly wrote:If someone doesn't believe in a god's existence, isn't it absurd to consider they could be angry with him?
How can you be angry at something you don't believe in? It's like someone being angry at fairies.

dumbjao has faded into obscurity, no longer on my list. I don't hate Dog, merely the idiots that follow a creation of man like sheep.Satiated Parrot wrote:Hehe. The dengjao thing is amusing.Joker Poker wrote:Vlad, you've got to get over your 3 obsessions.

As for the rich...SP can qualify that for you, he's got new testacles, sorry, spectacles.

I don't believe you, but you obviously do...

I agree totally with your first sentence. I disagree with the second. People most certainly are expressing "unbelief". Part of this is due to the failure of religious institutions --- across all faiths --- but also a lot of "Human Arrogance" introduced in the "Age of Reason" and subsequent phenomena like our reliance on empirical evidence to settle all matters. We live in an age of science, technology, and the need for "concrete frameworks" ---- there is less room for abstract things like imagination, art, and trying to find underlying meaning to things.StroppyChops wrote:Something I learned long ago (related to divorce) - the opposite of love is NOT hate, it's indifference. My experience is that people who are most vocal about God are not expressing unbelief, but how much they think God has failed them. Most often, it's the Christian church or it's individual members that have failed them - and that I can relate to.
Market structures also reward non-religious values -- materialism, and never ending progress at the expense of any form of gratefulness.

Re: On this day of worship.........
I believe in God. Unfortunately he's never introduced himself by name, and I can't decide who he is based on a bunch of different books that ALL admit they require faith to believe in.
The more a Christian studies the Bible, the more they are convinced they are right.
The more a Muslim studies the Koran, the more they are convinced they are right.
Etc...
The moment you "decide" on a religion is also the exact same moment you stop searching for "truth" and start looking for evidence to back up your decision.
